Hi
Sorry to start another topic but I can't seem to find my answer.
I have two rough front bearings on my '97 elx, how hard is this job to do?
Do I pull the hub off the stub axle and are the bearings pressed into the hub?
I can't seem to find my answer anywhere.
Thanks

Yes pull the whole hub of the stub axle and take the bearings out. You can punch/ press the bearing carriers out too once the hub is off.
It the bearings are busted the hub won`t come of easy. You might need a bit of leavering action.

Ok thanks, I stupidly used the air gun trying remove a hub nut not realising it was also an opposite thread! Doubt this bearing is good!
In the haynes it mentions having an "endfloat" which you measure with a feeler blade, is this to allow a slight wheel wobble?
Also am I right in thinking bearings for old UK cars won't fit my elx?
Thanks

Hi
There is only 2 types of front bearings for Fiat 126
First type fist early models with large PCD (The same as Classic Fiat 500)
Second types fits all 4x98 PCD
Thanks

Hi, I also made the mistake about the left hand thread and so had to buy a new steering knuckle. If you find that the thread is too damaged, I do have the number for someone who has a few steering knuckles.
