Post by: peter andrew on January 02, 2015, 07:28:32 PM
Hi from Stockport just introducing myself after joining your club a few months ago . I bought and restored a mini moke and eventually sold it, since then I've been wanting to have a go at something else so when I spotted a 126 on eBay I had to buy it ,its a 1991 bis and I've seen it mentioned in a few club posts ,its been made into a van and had loads of time and money spent on it,the lad I bought it from reckoned it stood him at £4000 but I'm not sure about that! Some of the work has been done well and some of it hadn't so I'm now busy putting everything right .I'll put some pics on for you as soon as I can and maybe get some comments
from all you 126 fans .cheers for now Pete.

Hi Peter , I remember seeing that 126 van & thought it would be an interesting motor so good luck with that. You must have still had some change left if you sold a Mini Moke. I met a car dealer and mini enthusiast from Slough a couple of years ago who said that he had a new unused Moke still in a packing case. He said that it was packed for export and the deal fell through so he got his hands on it  :)

Yes your right I did still have a bit of change ,but now I wish I hadn't sold it ,anyway I did enjoy re building it and saving its life.
So its on to the little fiat now its had so much done to it but some things will have to be changed its been lowered but the rear springs have been cut in half and the bump stops are missing so that needs sorting ,so that's the first job ,next will be the head lining its in a sorry state  thanks for your message Pete .
