Just received this Email

Hi everyone

On behalf of Frisky owners on the Frisky register I would love to welcome you to the 2015 national micro-car rally.

It is going to be held during the 3rd to the 6th of September at The Hatton Country World near Warwick.

Hatton is situated near the A46 which links the M40 and the M6 making it easy access from both north and south.

There is a large flat rally field with adjacent facilities including a café, restaurant, craft shops and an outlet store.

More information will be available soon regarding local accommodation, road runs and entertainment.

If you have any initial questions, concerns or ideas please contact me at [email protected] .

We are aiming to break the record of the most Friskies at a micro-car rally which stands at 13.

It would be great if each club tried to do the same with there make.

Wishing you all well

Regards

Malcolm Dudley

They haven't released any cost as yet, usually they charge 5 quid on the Sunday (show day) If your camping they charge per night, as soon as i find out I'll post it here.

Just received this email today from Malcolm who is organizing this years rally

Hello everyone.

It’s now May and I would like to give you an update on this year’s national.

The frisky register is attempting  a world record (held at 13) for the most Friskies  attending an event. Each frisky that attends will be presented with a commemorative plaque to mark this attempt.

The rally is to be held on the main field at Hatton country world between the 3rd to the 6th September 2015.

The field will open on midday of Thursday 3rd and the costs will be as follows.

Rally entry fee will be £6 and include the rally pack

Camping  will be £12 per unit per night irrespective of tent, caravan or motorhome.

Auto jumble stands will be £10 per pitch.

This year to help those with only a few parts to sell, we will be offering a service of up to 4 items to be left (at the owners risk) at the control tent for our communal auto jumble, with a 10% commission.

There are no electric hook ups or showers on site but we are adding a luxury toilet trailer  in the camping area to supplement the toilet block which is adjacent to the site.

Activities during the rally

THURSDAY

An evening get together, with a few beers.

FRIDAY

A road run to the Coventry transport museum (free entry and parking outside the entrance in Millennium square)

In the evening there will be hot dogs and background music in Hatton’s main marque.

SATURDAY

A road run around Warwickshire taking in Henley in Arden, Stratford-upon-Avon and Charlecote hall with Ann Hathaway’s cottage and Mary Arden’s house on the route.

In the evening there will be live entertainment, beer & wine (and maybe a little food) There also will be a raffle.

SUNDAY

The main display day with presentations at 3pm.

There will be hot “fast food” available on the rally field.

Hatton Country world Has a range of shops including Brantanos, Edinburgh Mills, Antiques stores, women’s clothes and an old world sweet shop. It has a restaurant (that will open for breakfast) and a café.

All these facilities are adjacent to the rally field and are accessible without an entrance fee. The only charges  on the site are for the children’s activity field .

The members of the Frisky register would like to invite and welcome you all  to the 2015 national.

If you have any questions or I can help in any way do not hesitate to email me.

Kind regards

Malcolm Dudley

(general dogsbody and whipping boy)

Regarding entry cost, this is what the organiser Malcolm Dudley told me when I said I was not showing a car but simply coming to see the others:

"The rally is adjacent to Hatton and you do not have to enter  their site to attend the rally.

We are charging £6 for the rally pack which includes a program, rally plaque and a gift."

This seems to be the same as if you are showing a car, from what the website says, so in effect it is free to show, or to put it another way, when you've finished admiring the microcars, you can come along and admire my daily driver...  ;D

Just back from visiting this show. I asked his chap if I was going the right way for the baby Fiats...

He said yes, but actually I thought it was just a wind-up...

The aim of a microcar is to make the vehicle as small and as lightweight as possible. No surplus weight is allowed, and all modern conveniences and mechanical aids are absolutely forbidden. Naturally, all the Fiat 126s were immediately disqualified in favour of this outright winner...

Where was I? Probably away searching for the beer tent...

Or possibly showing 'er indoors how the engines on Berkeleys are hung on the single front wheel ... er, not sure what you call it - stanchion? post? pivot? Anyway, were they possibly the first front wheel drive cars [seriously, wasn't that the Citroen Avant?, the Maigret car?] but they had the front wheel, the steering and the transmission all in a single unit, so that when the car is steered, the entire engine moves from side to side with the wheel. Many folks who don't know these cars won't believe this, but true it is.

I understand they go through front tyres in about every 200 metres...  ;D

Even more seriously, how are you managing to post pix of over 500KB when I was limited to under 82KB ? I think we should be told...

It was great to meet everyone be put some faces to names - if the frisky club do anything again in the area I will certainly tag along, the cars on show were stunning if a little odd at times lol
