Title: Clutch has gone / going
Post by: DeVilleChris on June 12, 2014, 08:12:25 PM
Hi all. This is very odd but if I park my car pacing down hill, I get an oil leak from the gearbox from between the engine and box. now I've had a look, cleaned it all out and then had another look today and its still leaking. Problem is the clutch is being damaged with this too and now it just engages the clutch half way down a road etc...

I want to replace the seal and while I'm there put in a new clutch.

I'm after some suggestions and advice as this is the first time I've attempted a clutch and want to know if there is anything in particular I should look out for / be careful of while doing so.

I want to do this more for experience as having 3 126's now I need to be able to do as much as I can myself; plus its good fun

Thanks in advance.

Chris before you decide to change the clutch. Have you tried to adjust the clutch cable?

It's definately the clutch thats going, wont even go up hills now, the cable is as far out as it can go

 Oh that sucks.
It is a straight forward job though.
Make sure you replace the rear crank seal and the small one on the gearbox input shaft while you at it.
Good luck and let us know how you get on.

Well, clutch change was a success!

Think I need to adjust the cable a bit now though as its really really low :(
