Hello
A few years ago ( Jan 2011 from looking back at old posts ) i joined the forum and enquired about getting a 126. That didn't happen - instead I went through a whole collection of retro / classics, but not really getting something that stayed the distance ( either through bad choice or just me realising the car wasn't for me ).
I recently got back in to classic Mini ownership again after a few years away from the scene, and i'm glad i did.
Maybe it's the small car thing ( i must be mad to keep wanting small cars with 2 kids, but the wife has a family car ;D ) but wanting a 126 has never really left my head, and i'm now in a position to start looking again - hopefully this time the outcome will be different :)
Looking for one that's on the road already, but don't mind too much if it requires minimal work ( i know all classics require some form of ongoing maintanance )
I've already spotted the white one on Retro Rides, but have also seen this one, which is a lot more local: ebay 126 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1987-Fiat-126-RHD-AIR-COOLED-Tax-and-MOT-/151158828566?pt=Automobiles_UK&hash=item2331c4ae16
Does anyone on here know the car or able to give any feedback from reading the description?
Cheers
Darren

Hi, welcome (again, I wasn't here the last time) and that car is a forum members yes. It is the the for sale section somewhere.

Thanks for the tip. Found the ad on here and had a read.
Must admit it's tempting.

Chatted to the owner both on ebay and through the forum, and should hopefully be picking up within a couple of weeks.
The plan will be to keep it a rolling resto - get the odd bits that need doing, done - hopefully get it running like it should, and then just enjoy it.
The paintwork might even stay :D

Please fix the paintwork :D lol. Congrats on your new 126.

Westy's old car, he did quite a lot to it, you should be able to find out more by searching the forum.

Maybe the paint will change then ;D
Had a look through the forum when I found out the car was on here. Always good to find out the history on a car.

Good luck!

Unfortunately I've had to pull out of buying the 126. I've already contacted the seller and explained. Basically the funds I had put aside have now, due to house work, been needed elsewhere.
I'm still planning on joining the 126 club but this has now been put on hold till next year.
