Title: Standard gearboxes
Post by: AlleyNiki on November 06, 2013, 06:34:43 AM
Hi all, just got a quick question that I couldn't find the answer for by forum searching..  ???

Anyone know what the standard a/c transmission can withstand in the way of horsepower?

I ask only because I'm saving to modify my engine to get a respectable 30bhp out of it, but I haven't really considered what the transmission can and won't be able to take.

Thanks for reading / responding.

Hi!

30hp should be fine on a standard transmission.
Have a look here for example:

and here:

both owners seem to do just fine with well more than 30 hp...

(Me?I hope to find out soon)

;D Great! That puts my mind at ease. I wonder how the car handles with that K75 engine?

BTW, that is a nice  ;)  looking front end on your 126, Kowalski. Did you buy some sort of body kit to do that?
