Title: small leak/drip weep from driveshafts?

any ideas if this is a big job / complex box off jobs or just pull out drive shaft and wop in a  new seal?
before i get busy on it

easy job, just unbolt shaft from outer end, remove outer dust gaiter, then unbolt the large washer thingy holding inner gaiter on, slide it off and replace it with a new one. The seal is incorporated in the gaiter. While its all apart its well worth thoroughly greasing the splines of the outer end as they can and do wear badly if left alone.

gaiters?????

i dont have gaiters

do u mean like on cv joints on front wheel drive cars

yes, just like those! within the driveshaft gaiters is a bearing/seal which holds the oil in the box... at least it does on aircooled cars, surely the BIS has them?

i cant see any of them type gaiters will look again when there is some light
