Title: Ebay Newbie from Surrey

Hi all,my names simon and ive just bought a 126 off ebay last week!
its an italian import,and i need help in how to register it here so i can get a V5!

will try and upload a pic,not worked out how to do that yet ;D

Welcome. For pictures the easiest way is to have a flickr account and just link the picture url.

Yep. I saw this one, looked ok rot wise, just a bit bashed and not registered here.

yeah apparently it lived in a barn for a few years with a horse who kept kicking it? ::)

but as you say seemed to be no rot so thought id buy it,dont suppose you know if its easy it regiuster it?never done it before.

Saw a goat damaged Astra the other day, apparantley the car was always polished and the goat could see its reflection in the door and got a bit territorial.
I have no idea about registering a car over here.

Its a few years since i registered a car from the EU, But this is how it used to work,

You need to get the car through a U.K. MOT, If the car passes a new MOT is issued using the Chassis Number and Original registration number

The car has to be insured this is also done on the Chassis Number and Original registration number

You will also have to apply to tax the car, Take your paperwork for the car, MOT, Insurance certificate to your local DVLA office, If you need to fill in anything else you can do it down there.

Then you have to wait until your new V5 arrives and get your plates made up ;D

Hello Pete,

Thanks for the info, so first thing is I need to get a mot, in which case im going to need a trailer to get it to the mot station! As I assume I cant drive it on the road with no plates or tax  :(

The best thing to do is call at your local MOT station and have a word with them :thumbup
