Noticed both mine are knackered again! (Aircooled version)
I am wondering if the rocking motion of the engine is causing the poo so thinking of getting two landrover type mountings, bolting them to either side of the main engine mount, binning the engine mount and creating a plate to go from original mount on engine to the two new mountings.
That'll stop a bit of rock and roll! >:(

Darrell some of the racing type 126 cars have dampers fitted from the rear x member fixing to the cylinder head to stop the rocking. I have seen a few of these on ebay, may be an alternative route.

Yeah trouble with the damper is under load the engine will still rock over.
If we do a double mount at the engine, and with the double mount of the gearbox I think we'll have a better set-up.
Gear selection will be more precise as sometimes I found gears would disappear when the engine was being worked hard. Obviously the engine was listening to Elvis while I was looking for second :$

I used the Land Rover engine mount on a stabilizer bar on my Pontiac Wasn't successful they are very hard and heavy duty, I could feel the engine vibrating through the body work  If your looking to make a stabilizer I would look at using rubber exhaust bobbins ;D

Yeah in haste i ordered tow landy mountings on e bay.
One look at them and i thought my god that will never work.
Gilly no impressed I binned them :$
