I've bought a 126 BIS, with the engine in the back - not underneath! It had been removed for replacement with a motorcycle engine..
I've taken the engine apart and I'm now in need of bearings and rings. General wear is not bad but shells and rings are tired.
Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.

Hi Carolynne , welcome to the world of............. :)
Big end shells are the same across the 126 range so you should have no problem there and they are pretty cheap. The two main bearings are also the same & even the same as the fiat 500 engines but they are expensive so if they are half decent and the crank journals are Ok you may want to refit them. Probably worth repacing the front & rear oil seals while you are there. Not sure about the rings being strictly aircooled but I am sure that one of the other guys will point you in the right direction :D

Thank you for the help!
The white metal has pretty much gone from all the bearings!! no scores to the crank though. Does the 'o' ring come with the back bearing?
Rings had gone sloppy - though bores are good. I'm just thinking- might as well do the lot while its in bits...
I'm writing the parts list now...
Gulp!

The O-ring between the rear main bearing and the crankcase will be included in a full gasket set :) Some sets also include front & rear crankshaft oil seals :)
