Once again "the best show of the year" returns to the lovely surroundings of Prescott Hill Climb for another day of awesome cars, RWYB hill climbing, guest cars, club stands, retro parking and all the great stuff you have come to expect from The Retro Rides Gathering.
Dates just released, although official website not yet been updated.

A show I can get to, I dont know if I'll be in my bluey but i will try
went to auto italia, MIT car and Weston park not in a 126, only saw 2 126s last year hope I'll see some more this year

I have requested the time off from work already, gotta get it in early these days. :(
Hopefully it will be granted and I shall be there, and finally have the 126 with me instead of the rover this year! ;D

ADVANCE TICKETS NOW AVAILABLE;
It may seem like RRG12 was just mere moments ago but somehow February has crept upon us and its time to release Advance RRG13 tickets!!
The date is Sunday 18th August, but I'm sure you know that already!
As a purchaser of a RRG12 Weekend Ticket you are being sent this email to invite you to grab your RRG13 Weekend Ticket before they go on general sale - and at a cheaper price too!
The link below will enable you to purchase tickets for just £25 per ticket + £2.50 postage per order. This link will work until the end of this month (February 2013). After that Weekend Tickets will only be available from the Retro Rides Store and will be priced at £30 each (but include free delivery).
As always, tickets are 'per person' and will be sent out around the start of August. The Weekend Ticket permits entrance to the Campsite as well as entrance to the event itself. Weekend Tickets are once again capped at 400 - they WILL sell out.

Not the biggest car show in the world but you do see some pretty special cars there and the show is in a different place every year around the midlands, aranged buy AROC The Alfa Romeo owners club,
More alfas than fiats but still interesting :P

If any members are still thinking about attending the gathering, I have just been informed that there are less than 50 tickets left for the weekend Friday to Sunday, There isn't a problem for Sunday (show day) But you save money by buying your tickets in advance, so if your coming down, Now is the time to get your tickets, See you there :P

Should I bring a barbaque (gas) and a gazebo?
I'm assuming many will be going in 126's, mine wont make MOT in time so thinking of A framing it, but will have the Passat to bring stuff.
As Bis13 is running around to make sweat and wont be coming, I guess I will be behaving ???
No campers will be shaken at midnight..
No out of control sausages..

That would be great if you could bring your gazebo, as for the the gas barbie it worked well last year but there was a strong smell of singed hair and quite a few of us had no eyebrows for 4 weeks after :P

@~%*&!! Annoyingly, I can't now make it to the RR due to work commitments. My boss asked me this morning to take his place, as he has double booked for a client meeting on the 19th August! I need preparation time for the meeting, plus flying out Friday the 16th. Sigh. We are gutted, we were so looking forward to the event. Anyway, have fun!!!

My ticked arrived today, thought I had bought 2. Now Fraser intends to bring his gilrl friend along as well arghhhhhh therore I need to see if I can find tickets, anyone know of any available?
The 126 is still in bits but if all goes well I will bring the Gamine.

Just in from Retro Rides HQ
Coming for the Weekend?
This year we are using a different entrance to the campsite. Its the one we intended to use last year but the weather forced us to change plans.
If you arrive with Prescott on your LHS, the new entrance is a little further down the road.
If you arrive with Prescott on your RHS, the new entrance will come before you reach Prescott/the old entrance.
Basically, its where the big grain store is.
Of course, it WILL be signed if you haven't been before.
Arriving on the day?
Are you in a pre-1991 car?
NO -> Park in public parking.
YES -> Follow signs to Club Parking if you have a club stand pass. Follow signs to Retro Parking if you do not have a club stand pass.
Did your Retro or Modified car not make it to your Club Stand so you bought your daily driver instead? -> Park in public parking.
Ensuring that that ^^^ is followed will keep things moving quickly and get you into the show faster. There will be people in orange 'crew' Tshirts along the road to point you in the right direction if you really aren't sure.
And just a reminder for the uneducated - YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO BRING PETS INTO THE CAMPSITE, PARKING AREAS OR SHOW VENUE. This includes dogs, cats, ferrets, chinchillas and parrots.

I'm now free on Sunday, so I'm thinking of coming over to Retro Rides on Sunday in the 126.
Can I just turn up and pay on the gate?
Do I need a special pass if I want to park with club Fiat 126s?

That would be 8) another 126 on our stand, I'm sure you will be directed to the 126 club stand but if you PM me your address I will get a 126 pass sent out to you 1st class just to be sure :thumbup

Just popping my head over here to say I'm definitely still coming (and not stuck in Slovakia still...!). Bringing a gazebo too, plus a BBQ and two camping stoves, so we should be sorted for fires and cooked food. I may also bring my grown-up sized space hopper too... ;D
Really looking forward to seeing everyone - but what's this I hear of Bis13 not coming? Dislike. Sad face.

Pete - I have a club pass for another club but people are moaning because all the places are taken. So I may just park up with club126 after an hour to keep people happy. You won't need to post anything just make sure there's some spare passes with you if possible :)
Also... I may be making a for sale sign for my 126 .... :(

Hi folks hope you all have a great weekend and the weather is good for you, i am keeping myself busy this weekend with a half marathon on the Isle of Wight. I have some work to do on my car and have decided to lay it up for a while so that the mot does not always clash with the retro rides weekend each year. Cook with some wd40, talk some utter bollocks and rock some camper vans and it will be just like i am there!! all the best!! mick.

Sorry I'm not able to join you this year, but having had a horrific experience at last years event I've been advised not to attend for health reasons.
It was late one evening while trying to get to sleep (I was counting little Fiats going up the hill) that I heard strange noises and my motorhome was shaking violently. Much to my surprise three aliens had landed outside, luckily they were of the friendly type and are know as PEACE-EDS. They had come in from outer space, and although from an area known as the black hole, they were very much influenced by the ALKA-HOLE.
Further research found out more about these three individuals. One lived on a small planet surrounded by water and was know to have a cider habit, another was a scrap dealer but was convinced he was a policeman, and the other didn't know where he was from and spoke with funny accent.
WE ALL KNOW WHO YOU ARE................IT WAS A GREAT WEEKEND

Hope everyone is enjoying themselves! Gutted I couldn't make it, I got stitched up by work and had my annual leave cancelled. :cry:
Even more pissed off as I bought a de ville especially for the summer shows. Anyway, hopefully will make it in 2015! My mate is getting married next year in Portugal so wont make it next year either.
Anyway, hope you all drank lots and enjoyed it. ;D

Good to meet up with friends old & new and sad about those who did not make it. Made it home OK after a carb problem and a snapped starter cable on the way there :cry:
So tired though, got back and fell asleep at my lap top as I was checking e-mails :D

Just as above. We had a great weekend again, so thanks to everyone 8).
Nice to meet some new forum members too.
We made it home without any problems and the car was running like a beauty despite having few little problems on the way up. The one shocking thing was the fuel consumption figure :o I think, I`ll be changing my carb and few other bits.

Awesome weekend (as expected!) - so lovely to catch up with all you lovely people!

This took some time to organise, so Oscar and Andrew headed home while I talked cars with the RAC bloke. The wrong rescue vehicle came initially, so by nearly midnight the RAC guy took me to South Mimms Services to wait for the truck and car and finally got hauled home by a lovely but completely MAD rescue lorry driver!! Drove like a nutter...!!! Survived though, and got in at quarter to two.
No idea what the problem is, but gonna check compression tomorrow as it may be a blown valve...
As one person texted me: Can't believe you made it to Slovakia and back but the M25 got you!
Says it all...! lol

Garry at least you`ve got plenty of cars to choose from to get down, so no excuses next year.
It says Fifty Shades of Rust :$ There is plenty of other stickers on the back of it...
Oh and that green car is a Fiat 133 and if my information is correct it uses a Simca engine and gearbox. It did sound great and went even better.

They both are. I follow the garage who built them on Instagram, and the Dyane is for sale on ebay right this minute!
