Title: Hello Folks - my new purchase!
Post by: charliebrown on September 21, 2012, 08:29:41 PM

Hi folks,

I was lucky enought to win the auction on ebay for this:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1983-CLASSIC-FIAT-126-BROWN-/280959933051?pt=Automobiles_UK&hash=item416a845a7b

This is my first aircooled 126, so I may have loads of questions!  I am very please with him and very lucky!

Jobs include a good polish, a few minor chips to touch up, clean up interior and replace the sunroof!  I can't wait to get started!

Hello and welcome to the forum!! Congratulations on your purchase. You bought the car at fantastic price. It would normally sell for a lot more. Lovely car! Please post some photos of your car.

Thanks for the comments.  I am really looking forward to sorting a few minor jobs on it over the coming weeks, and using it on sunny days only! ;D

It apparently was garaged for the last 9 years, certainly looks like it may have been.

Also noticed today (didn't at the time) that the glass also has a brown tint!!

Will get some photos up in due course.  Will take some of the susroof being replaced.  Anyone had any dealings with this company? They seem to stock a load of bits:

They are a reputable company. Many have in one way or another have purchased parts from Ricambio with no problems at all. I have bought some items from them in the past. A bit pricey though.

There was an issue with a recent purchase from one member regarding reconditioned stub axles. Apart from this glitch, they are fine.

This is also good supplier and they do have the sunroof canvas. Most of the time it takes less than a week for parts to arrive from them.

And well done on your purchase. The car is a stunner!
