Title: Ignition(not enough Power??)
Post by: naboula01 on July 13, 2012, 05:19:00 PM
Hi evryone, Just came back from holiday, and with enthusiasm i tried to run my car... However, it just didn't started... :S It is making noise starter is working pump is pumping carb is carburing :P Distributor is making sparks but no sparks on spark plugs... :S Weird isn't it ?
So i tried to see if they weren't any electricity, just putted a screwdrive in the spark plug cable an check like this, the sparks are just very weak i must put the screwdrive on the engine to see the sparks... :S
Anyone got an idea about why it is like this?

PS:The car worked finely couples of weeks ago.

Coil, condenser or earth strap come to mind first. Did you check both plugs for a spark?

Try using jump leads or charging the battery, If the battery is weak all the power can be drained by the starter motor.

It can't be the battery i just checked it. I also checked my spark plugs for spark, and there is not any spark there :S
I just want to be sure about the coil before buying one, how can i check it? I also will check the eaarth strap tomorrow :S

It seems very strange that the car was working 2/3 weeks ago then you go on holiday and it won't start when you got back, there's been no voltage running through the components, When you checked the battery did you check it under load I.E. with the starter motor turning the engine to see if the voltage drops off.

If you got the Biazet double coil, the primary winding is 1.52Om +/- 5%; the secondary 10.000Om +/- 10% at 20*C.
