Went to three of the Auto Italia events last year. Stamford Hall has a good turn out of Italian Cars and we got a great welcome from the Fiat Forum guys who gave us front of stage & a sausage in a bun :) Ok but apart from the cars & the comradeship you were basicaly stuck in a field. Windsor was OK but only as it was on my patch but the Daddy of them all is the Brooklands event. Loads to see & do on a truely historic motoring site. Reflected in the ticket price which I think was £14 last year. However if you have never been there before it is quite an experience.

Looks cool! :D

Duke! Convoy? Brilliant! ;D
What speed do you prefer - 55 or 60? We could take up both lanes of the A12 and REALLY annoy some folk...
C'mon Hazey-n-Marc, it's gonna be 2 hours for me, so what's an extra hour? :)

Speed 55-60 no prob ! Might be staying in dartford on fri night , could still meet at bridge crossing, must be some more guys out there that want to convoy from river crossing onwards ?
If you prebook through brooklands website you get £2 off ticket price and if you turn up in a fiat you get to go in fastrack through fiat only gate ! Luxury :D
Lina i have PM'ed you
Marc they shut at 5 pm so it would not be worth it mate unless you could get the misses to throw a sickie or swap her day off ? Its a once a year event mate , and just think my white one, lina's blue and your red one all in convoy !

All being well I am going to get to this event. It is the flagship Auto Italia event with the bonus of being on the historic Brooklands site. If you have never been there then it is worth a trip as there is much to see apart from the cars that will turn up. Last year the intended convoy , I believe organised by Markymarc, did not work out for a variety of reasons although about half a dozen cars turned up eventualy but they were scattered around the site. Without a specific club location for 126s the marshalls get a bit confused so you may be directed to the Fiat 500 area which will probably be by the planes again or onto the banking where the Fiat Forum gather. So if we get a plan together we should be able to get a bit of a display on :D I did find last year that once you had been directed to a pitch you could relocate or drive around the back of the site so you are not locked in to a set position for the day.

There is a large tesco extra on Brooklands Industrial Estate just down the road from Brooklands Museum.
The address; BARNES WALLIS DRIVE, WEYBRIDGE, SURREY, KT13 0XF.
Do members want ot all meet in this location, then we can all go to Auto Italia in convoy?
Let me know what you think? Tom

My friend , do not be too alarmed . I was in that queue last year and I was surrounded by fabulous Italian cars of all sorts and some had 10 more cylinders under the hood than me but it was all smiles and a lot of fun. I would suggest going earlier rather than later so depending on how things go I may swing by the Tesco site to check for strays :$ Most important is to try and get together on site so head for the Fiat 500 area or the Fiat forum area which I guess will be on the banking to accomodate the massed bands :D

FF is indeed on the banking. I really wish I could make this one but it's just too far south and I'm already booked for Stanford again, can't have more than one foreign holiday a year now can I? :D
Hope everyone who goes gets the weather for it, by all accounts everything else about this event I have heard is superb so the weather is the only thing that can let it down. :)
Edit. Well the weather and the fact no BBQs are allowed. :(

Just got back from Brooklands. We left about 4ish after the Test Hill event. Enquired about participating the hill climb and was told one needs to apply to Phil Ward by email. His details are in Auto Italia. We will defintely go for it next year.
The turnout was just over 50% due to the weather. That said, the turnout of exotic cars did not dissappoint. For me, it was still a good day out. I always enjoy Brooklands whatever the weather. Talking about the weather, it markedly improved about 2ish.
It was great to see fellow 126 members old (Ladislav and partner, Lina + son, Rusty, Smallcox +son) and new (The Duke of 126). There was also another new forum member that we met briefly (Kent 126??).
Ladislav - many thanks for the Bis noise insulation trim. I am a bit embarrassed as I owe you a couple. I will try to resolve this, next time we meet. Many thanks again.
Trust everyone got home okay, especially Lina.

Then he did it a couple more times as I tried to sort out my camera :$ Then he got his wrist slapped by a marshall :o

I left at 1 cos I had a cold , but I was so glad I went , I got Luigi off the clock at 85 mph ! On the way home , downhill in the fast lane ! Morning folks!
Yes, it was really great to see everyone and put names and faces to nicknames on the forum! :D
I made it home with only two breakdowns, neither of which involved fire lol! If I ever think fondly of a breakdown, it'll be the one I had in the Dartford toll lane on the way back... she wouldn't start again (fuel filter empty, as happens when it's hot) and I knew it would be at least 10 mins to cool down before I'd see petrol again. Graham and I pushed the car out of the way to let others through, but in seconds, we had a traffic patrol vehicle with us. They closed the lane off for us and came round ready for towing us (funny moment of asking if it needed water and also to be aware the steering will be heavy with no power steering!!) Then was towed out of the way, meaning about five other lanes were paused while I was 'forcibly removed' lol and taken to a large car park area beside the tolls.
Finally, when it had cooled enough, I tried to start her up, but the battery was flat!! So, went to the office hut and asked if anyone would be able to give me a jump start, to which they said 'no'.... but what about a push? So I had two patrol officers giving me a bump start, and of course, we started up. The patrol officer then said she'd follow me back round to attempt the tolls again, just in case I broke down again, which I didn't. Although I expected her to peel back off to the car park area again, she ended up escorting me through the tunnel, and when she finally pulled off, I saw another patrol vehicle behind her - two officers escorted me through!! LOLOLOL ;D Felt like royalty! :P (I shall be writing an email to thank them!)
Anyhoo, didn't stop again until Colchester, despite knowing petrol was going to be quite low, and managed to get about a mile from home until I got caught up in traffic again, which I knew was going to be the car dying again, and it was. Right on a major roundabout. Pushed out the way and waited again and then made it the final bit of the journey...!!
Good news from all this - my petrol light works!! It came on in Colchester, whoo hoo!! lol And despite the breakdowns, I'm dead chuffed the car made it there and back under it's own steam!! ;D
Thanks everyone for your help and support :D

Great to see all of you again. Shame about the weather. I was surprised how many people still turned up.
Lina I`m glad you made it home!!! You`ll have some stories to tell in the pub. A police escort through the Dartford tunnel is quiet something :o
I was pleased to get home to be honest as a big exhaust, completely stripped out interior and motorway driving is not a good combo.
We haven`t taken even one photo, but someone sent me these. ;D

Good pictures Pete but is it just a coincidence that Lina is being followed by an ambulance and if you pan out is there also a police escourt and a fire tender in her convoy ;D After a severe ear bashing from Lad-the-Slav then later from Smallcox I got up at 6am and changed my distributor etc to try and overcome the latest probs with the 126. Set off and made it about 3 miles before the engine started cutting out. Limped back home, conking out a couple of times then ended up going to Brooklands in my wife's Fiat Panda. Now I am sure I counted 5 126s there. Lad was in his 127, I think he calls it Joseph as it has a coat of many colours :P So there was Lina , Smallcox, the Duke & Amateb8 so who did I miss ?
