Hi Pete126, will you be driving down from West Yorkshire?  If the weather's good I'd love to take my Fiat on a roadtrip (longest it's done so far is 12 miles) but could do with following someone to make sure I get there!

Guys, it may be an opportunity to clear your garages of unwanted 126 parts. I would be keen to consider Bis parts! This are the parts I need:

The most important part I need is the washer bag with electric motor for a bis. My local fiat dealer says, it has been discontinued. They will investigate to see whether other Fiat models have a similar washer bag. There are universal kits but I want to keep it original as far as I can.

Other 126 Bis parts I need are:
Centre console
RHD glovebox
Dashboard cover
Rear plastic bumper spoiler
Air filter cover
Carb cover
Sound deadening side panels (located either side of engine cover)

I have a washer bag, will bring it along, will have a look for the other parts you need. What time are we meeting up? I have a kit car meet the same day.

Centre console (tick) I will dig one out and bring along

What do mean by the rear bumper spoiler?

Post by: Amateb8 on November 12, 2011, 06:08:36 PM
The rear bumper spoiler (I think that is what it is called) is the piece of plastic trim under the rear plastic bumper of the Bis. On the centre console, I actually found one but need to compare which one is in better condition.

126Blackbird, on the washer bag with electric motor, does the motor work? I suppose we can test it on the day.

Anyone got a good condition rear plastic bumper for a Bis? Annoyingly, my blue bis has all the parts I outlined but the condition of all the bits are scratched, in some cases quite badly. Proeitti's mechanics may have something to do with the state of the interior, as I caught Proeitti's mechanics having an afternoon kip in the car on several occassions. As my car was parked there for almost two years, they may have been sleeping all that time!!!!

Help! Is 8 Ball Diner opposite the Little Chef? Google mapped it but seem to direct venue to Hollander. No sign that says 8 Ball Diner. Found the Wildberry Restaurant but where is it exactly.

If you are on the A12 and go past Witham heading to Colchester then keep an eye left for a derelict pub and just past that turning ease up and you will see what used to be a petrol station (poss car sales now?) turn off there. Oposite (onthe right) you will see a BP garage! Hope this helps?

What sort of time is the general ETA?

I got back about 30 minutes ago. It was great to meet you all! Trust everyone got home safely. It was  nice to be able to put a face to the names on all those emails. Lina, I hope the gearbox gets sorted soon. Many thanks to Ladislav, Rusty, Dajwid, and 126blackbird for the 126 Bis parts. Dajwid, you have the patience of a saint! Markymarc, many thanks for your help re directions. The missus relayed your message by text. The google map photos of the place are so out fo date! The link below show the 8 Ball Diner as an empty warehouse with a "To Let" sign.

Yes good to meet up with some old and new faces today  :)
But I could see that the writing was on the wall with that diner  :o They are in serious need of an Alan Sugar in the business department and a good dose of Gordon Ramsey in the kitchen  ::)
I did pass a resturant after about ten miles on the way back home, had a sign saying "Light Bites Vegan Food"
I did think that you guys could have gone there instead of sitting at the 8 Ball like a bunch of vegetables, at least there would have been a pulse or two in the kitchen !  ;D :P ;D

I'am sorry, I,am sorry, I'm sorry, :$ I bow my head in shame.

Enjoyed the hour I spent anyway to see you loving 126 owners together.

Yes Pete I did regret not turning up in the Yellow peril and a plast in that Green flying Machine.

Still good to see you all anyway and in the new year will make up for it and do a forfit that you fill is   fitting.

Love Smallcox.

Smallcox - I missed you!  What happened??

Great photos guys!! :D

I had an adventurous time getting home - fine until the turn off to Colchester where I dropped down to 2nd... then had no other gear available other than 1st!!!  Had to drive all the way through Colchester in 2nd gear, waving people to overtake, with my son trying to cheer me up with "at least the stereo works Mummy"!!!  Hey ho, no time to investigate until the weekend, so back to the back-up car again...

Was LOVELY to get to put so many faces to names and nicknames!  What a lovely bunch we are ;D

Really enjoyed it, despite the overwhelmed venue (surely the Rover 75 fan club can meet elsewhere next time??), see you all again soon, I hope!!

Hey Pete,

I'm 100% convinced it's something within the vicinity of the gear stick rather than at the linkage end, due to the rattle, but I won't know for sure until the weekend.  I'm hoping is a 10 min fix job... ;D lol
