Hi guys,
I love these old classic wheels/rims. Does anyone know how I can get them?
I accept that they are probably quite expensive!
Thanks
Abiella

To fit those on a later 126 you would either have to buy a full set of hub adaptor plates or change your stub axles, rear hubs and all your brakes. Those wheels were fitted to the 500R (3.5J) and 126 (4J)

That sounds complicated! :o

Yes, it's a step backward in the evolution :$
But you can trick it with adapter plate that use to fit the old type rims on 4x98mm disc brakes.

The bad thing about that wheels is that's almost 100% impossible to find a workshop to make you balance.

Those rims do come up on eBay UK quiet often for about £30-40. I`ve got 3 sets ;)
The problem is those adapter plates. They seem to be 70 Euro a piece :o

Here is a nice set for you ;)

I really wants the old 500 style wheels on my air-cooled, why are these wheel/adapter plates impossible to balance?

Those rims were produced in 3.5J width and fitted to the Fiat 500R and 4.0J for the Fiat 126. So if you are buying some I would not recommend the 3.5J for a 126. Those adaptor plates are a heavy duty bit of kit and do not do much for your unspung weight at the wheel. If you want balance them then you should have them balanced fitted to the wheel & tyre :)

if thats the way you want to go then retro fit the whole hub brakes etc?
