I have today added a new modification to the forum.
There was a problem when members added pictures to the forum which were larger than the forum template. The new mod now reduces the picture size to an acceptable size for the forum template to operate correctly.
However the original size image can still be viewed simply by clicking on the picture.

is that a program tht auto reduces the pic size?
is it specific to this type of forum or a nifty bit of programming?

It was a phpBB forum mod!
It involved altering the scripts on two of the forum php files and adding a java script file.
Dead easy took about 5 mins!

its a good idea, the other forum i use has a 300kb pic limit, which is sodding useless so auto resize would be brill
only yesterday i posted a step by step guide to using paint to make pics smaller!!!!!

Yes it's a good mod!
I have been looking for this one for a while.
I am not sure if it will effect the initial page loading speed with a large picture, which is a pain if you are on dial up?
Therefore I hope forum members will stick to something like 100kb (or below) for a maximum size on picture files.
The old rule of 450 pix max width pictures can now be ignored!
