Does anyone have any offers for my car? :$
Seems no one interested, Is the price too high?
Talk to me peoples
-
Unfortunately I've put my buying of another car back till at least next March. Also I was looking for a bike engined project for track days (shh, don't tell the forum) so your car would have been quite nice.
-
I would have jumped at the chance. Unfortunately a have another Bis that is definitely going in for a partial resto. next week - ouch!
Difficult to gauge pricing but the quoted price looks fine to me but that is just my opinion. The earlier versions like yours are more popular, but as you know, prices vary quite a bit depending on condition. It will sell. Just be patient.
Good luck!
-
Price looks good to me, if it is as good as listing says.
-
I'm with David there - if the car is as solid as it looks, £1,400 is a fair price. Values are definitely creeping upwards. If I had the garage space for another one, I'd certainly be interested, especially as Red-Orange is my favourite 126 colour by far!
-
Thanks for sharing your advice on prices everyone. Guess I need to just wait until someone comes along. ;)
I am still going to fully prepare the underside and under seal it as soon as this damn rain gives in for a bit. ;D
-
Looked at this as Im in the market for a 126, unfortunately its too rich for me.
Shame really as Im only in somerset, so a nice local car.
If you drop the price drop me a line.

Hence the inclusion of the words & Offers in the advert! :D

One of the strangest replies to an advert I ever had.
Price: £1400 Offers invited
So I get a reply that reads :
Do you still have the car? What is your best offer? !! ::)
Am I getting something wrong here or is it the buyer thats supposed to have an offer that the seller thinks about..........What is my best offer? Not sure really mmmmmmmmm.
Are people really this silly or is it a full on hope seller is desperate to give a bargain car away for peanuts ???
-
Youve always got to try, you never know till you try.
on that note how does £800 and collection this weekend sound?
:)
-
Thanks for the offer but I would be silly to let it go for that. I am in no hurry for the cash and am happy to wait until someone offers me near my asking price.
Fair point though its worth a try!
You never know sometimes time pressures or other urgent issues force quick sales but currently I have nothing to draw me into a quick sale.
Cheers for the offer though!
James :)
-
no worries James I might be able to stretch that a little in the future.
in the mean time. if any time pressures or other urgent issues crop up.
I have cash waiting.
(although I have just seen a rather nice x 1/9)
-
Ive seen your car when you bought m wheels and it was certainly very nice, definitely worth a minimum of £1400 probably nearer 2k.
They were having a laugh at £800!
I know a guy down in somerset that sold a blue deville for well over £1000 and it was a mess.
Keep it until you get a decent price.
-
Okay I have had a handful of interested people on this at the £1400 price mark but then interest seemed to fizzle out. I accept that this is the worse time of year to be trying to sell one of these and have taken the price down to 1200 squids. :o !
-
Still watching this with interest, just saw the drop on car and classic. went to see another recently but wasnt for me.
Still have cash waiting, But still not that much.
But a have a lovely cosy garage it would look great in and keep it nice and warm now its getting wintery. :)
Give me a ring on 07719268911 if you want to chat about a deal.
If not no worries, good luck with the sale.
-
The market is pooe at the moment may well pull this until spring. Just seems a shame to leave it in the road for another winter. :(
-
Dont let it go cheap mate, the market for classics is just poor FULLSTOP at the mo. Back in the spring and summer i had about 3 people asking to buy mine and i hadn't even advertise it. In fact there were posts on here asking if anyone had one for sale.
Someone will come along who wants one, and the good news is that there isnt much choice or availability for these rarer cars.
-
What would you consider 'cheap'. Also what would you expect to get for one like mine?
-
I pointed someone your direction.
I think the other big selling point with these cars is insurance cost. The one I sold very recently went to someone who hasn`t even passed his test yet.
The one before was kind of a similar story.
Put it on eBay as a Clssified Ad with best offer. It`ll cost you £15, but at least you should get people who are serious enough to come and look at the car. Worth a shot. I`m sure you`ll sell it!
-
Price is very good, the market is slow at the moment.
I agree Ebay £1600 with offers, automatically rejecting anything under your absolute minimum (£1200).
I would be suprised if it goes for less than £1500 (ish)
-
Thanks for your pointers & your advice everyone.
Fingers cross it may go before the winter sets in.
Cheers
James

I agree with dajwid, anything less than £1200 is too cheap. I appreciate that only a year or so ago cheap late polish imports were only selling for a few £000 on ebay, but the 126 is gaining the publics interest thanks to the 500 and their sky hight prices, the motoring press are often sighting the 126 as a viable alternative and the early british spec models are most sought after. Even so even decent BIS models have sold for in excess of £1200 on ebay in recent times.
With your car you can hold out for a decent offer, because its not like potential buyers are spoilt for choice lol.
-
If this Polish 1999 (Yuk) Model (still on Polish plates and Polish MOT (or EU MOT as itsays on listing ) is up to best part of £1000 with about 3 hours to go, then yours is certainly worth the money.
-
Reminds me of my old one. Can I ask one question - the front number plate, is it painted on or is it adhesive? I'd really love to give this a home but - especially with Xmas just around the corner - cash is tight just now. Agree with what everyone else has said though, the price seems fine to me, I'd certainly pay that for her :)
-
I'd just stick it on eBay, you never know with eBay what you'll get! And it will always seem cheap listed next to that one for £25,000! ???

Just to let you know the number plate is an adhesive. The plastic one is a also present just not on the car.
The sticky number plate is actually now on the front bumper as some one steamed it off intact and we moved it off the body work.
Cheers for you reply and help.

He's having a ******* laugh. I mean has he really just misplaced a decimal point, or is he serious? 11 declined offers! You can keep it mate.
-
I personally think you will get your asking price or at least close to your asking price. It is a nice early model. Just be patient. A bit concerning that the car is and will be parked on the road during the winter time. You need to use the car once and a while otherwise the car might give you grief.
-
Fear not my friend I take the car for a spin once or twice a week. He runs like a treat at the moment. Cheers for your positive comments
