Hey!
I don't think you'll get any (or if you do few) negative comments, I'm 17 and just passed and although I haven't got mine ready for the road quite yet, I've only had positive comments :)
Ignore any negative comments, as you'll be the last one laughing when fuel prices go up and you can still afford to drive, insurance is very cheap (I'm assuming you're also 17??) and your car will only go up in value :D

hi
most people are pleasent but im my town they can be very rude
im 18 and it my dad thats really doing my car up, he had a fiat 126 when i was a baby, so he knows how to fix him up. iv just got loads of little parts for the car so he is going to be off the road for a few weeks and my dads planning to give him a respay before the winter sets in hopfully.

:welcome Thomaleena to the micro car world! You'll love it! ;)

Wow! Nice car, rare as well...are you planning anything special or will you keep him original?
-
Hello and welcome to the forum! Great choice!
-
Welcome to the forum :-) you get a few negative comments I just put them down to being lemmings like to follow what everyone else has hehehe but just as many smiles and friendly chat.
Nice rare 126 I've only seen a silver in a sales brochure
-
Love the sunroof! Very fiat 500 style. :P
-
Hi and Welcome.
I think this car was on Ebay (in Essex area)
It is a special edition silver model. YOu won't have any bad comments in fact you will be suprised these cars are real 'head turners'.
-
Whether you drive a nice new car, or an old Classic, you will always find some jealous person willing to say something bad to make them feel better. Ignore them, i have a modern sports car but I've been like a kid at xmas trying to get my 126 through the MOT, and i can't wait to drive her! ;)
-
these cars are crap we all know this however we all have love of this fact, people will laugh at your silly car and you will be the butt of many jokes however by owning this car you already displayed the ability to laugh at yourself after all no normal person would own such a ridiculous car.... enjoy the 126 its all fun except for the breakdowns (well they are fun too ....).
-
thank you for everyones comments, they are so nice,
its lovely to have support,
i have chosen to keep the car as original as i can, no matter how much my dad wants to spray Jeff (the cars name) green, i think just because there isnt many of his colour i should keep him as he is, although i am tempted by chrome bumpers, i dont know if they would suit the colour though? i dont know at the moment im just want him running properly.
and trust me i already know about brake downs. first day out in him went the wrong way and ended up over the humber bridge, half way across the car starts to fill with smoke had to pull over on the moterway, and run, turns out my fanbelt has disapeared lol , thank god my dad came and got me and jeff. although a nice lorry truck came and helped me and my friends as it was raining and we were stood on the grass with only summer dresses on.

Hello and welcome , guaranteed any problems you have (and you will have them) will be solved on this forum !
-
It's very much up to you what you do with your car, but yes it is extremely rare :)
Again with the chrome bumpers it's up to you, I think they'd look great, in fact I'm unsure if there's any colour chrome doesn't suit?!
-
Welcome! :)
The silver/black and red/brown models are rare (very rare) so if you keep it stock then in a few years in good condition it may be worth a bit...
Enjoy it (important to take care of the rust first though... ;D)

heya, welcome, i know just how you feel, im 18 and my 126 is my one and only car, my pride and joy, you get the haters, i got one, drove past in a terrible halfords ram raided peugeot 206 shouting ''ur cars s**t'' i could only laugh at his excuse for a car anyway....... youll get plenty of people looking and trust me, many more lovers than haters of the 126, turns heads wherever they go.....
Have fun!!
Dave..

Welcome.
On my way back from flying the other day I got out the Passat and wondered up past the 126 to the house, where some lads were walking past laughing and commenting on the 126.
One of their comments was 'who the hell would want that' to which I commented 'who the hell cares what a snotty nosed teenage dirt bag thinks'
I know, I shouldn't ..
Anyhow welcome, popular thread must be girls about :P
-
Ahah! abuse, i loved it when i had mine ;D
'hahaha oi mate your car is fffing ridiculous bruv'
They're in a chav'd 306 hdi.
'yeah nearly as ridiculous as yours, the engine's in completely the wrong place and stinks of chips'
I had fun ;D but now i own cars with engines in the wrong place! Glad they dont stink of chip fat though ;)

nice stories people :D
iv noticed recently more people being polite and making good comments.
i think every1 in hull has got use to me driving around in it now :D
also noticed other road drivers have been extra nice maybe because they think the car might blow up or that there is a little red haired teenage girl driver and they dont want me to crash into them. what ever it is iv yet to have any trouble on the road !

Welcome, your car is very rare so keep it original. I had the chance to buy one of these SILVER special editions with very low mileage just left in a garage but alas I could not afford the £7000 price tag! :o
-
dont worri decided gonna keep original although think my dad might already got me chrome bumpers for christmas, sopose can always keep originals to sell with car, if i ever dell him.
£7000! that a bit high mine had about 25400 miles on the clock and it only cost me £462 :D

It only had 3000 miles and was like the day it came out the factory! I offered him £3000 but no avail! I think it was overpriced but he said he had interest.

I have owned my 126 Bis for almost 4 years now and I have yet to experience a negative response from the public. Mostly, people are indifferent (which is good for my part) but the car definitely attracts attention, smiles and the thumbs up. I had a situation where I had to stop, as one does, to let people cross the pedestrian crossing. Oddly, the pedestrians stopped and hand signalled me to go ahead, and I did, despite my insistence for them to cross.
My friends think I am absolute bonkers for buying one. Little do they know, I have another 126!! Bottomline, I just love the car and just enjoy driving it and as Bis13 alluded to, a bit mad as well for owning one.
