Wow we are all saved, an extra 25BHP for £81.00 a bargain.
;) :D ;D

At last :o

Didn't know Maluchs had an ECU!? ???
-
I'm wondering what happens when we wake up ::) We decide to buy also a fuel magnetiser to ... hit the 100hp 8)
PS - that's why in F1 they are both banned :-
-
 :thumbup
-
Maybe plus .25bhp ;D ;D.
-
Oh how I wish they still made fluxcapaciters, right Rusty.

Hardly worth the effort for a measly 25HP and if you read the details it is only suited to the injected models anyway !
You'd be much better off going onto ebay and buying one of the Turbocharger kits advertised there. They give you a total of 485Hp. My only issue is the 7" 4 wheel drum brakes. Should I fit a power booster ?
-
;D Yesss!!!
If it is IHI RHB31 or Garrett GT12 or Aisin AMR300 or compound turbo&compressor ;D
Bis crankshaft, standard camshaft 263*, 650E head, Renault 5 GT Turbo carb, proper pistons and con rods...
50 old nags... for sure

PS - drum brakes!?!?! Nothing but a parachute (http://www.patentdata.com/report_full.php?aid=1184&pid=4136&uid=) :P

NO ! Just another Asian based internet scam for the brain dead (stupid) with too much cash.
-
if i fit one to my barbecue will it make the burn more intense? ;)
-
Bar-b-q ? you are more of a couch potato ;D
-
So was this a serious comment about the Bis crankshaft & if so can you tell us more on this conversion :)
-
Yes, it is! :)
Bis's (Cinquecento 700) crankshaft was designed for 700cc and 50Nm. Harder and better balanced in high revs. The standard 650 comes out of the first 500 or maybe the Nuova Sport (I'm not sure if there are different crankshafts). According to the logic and the tuners it's OK for more power. The stroke is still 70mm. (Here was described, but still not working... http://maluch.mgt.prv.pl)
About the standard 263* camshaft (timed like Panda 30 with 5* difference 21/62 - 61/22), it looks similar to the Kent Cams RT200 for Renault 5 GT Turbo 20/64-64/20 (264*) ;D Some of the standard Fiat 500 shafts are with shorter opening, so maybe they could be better in some applications. The 650E one isn't good for turbo, cos the exhaust phase is longer.
The 650E has better combustion chamber shape. Also the c.r. is 8:1 compared to 7.9:1 in R5 GT Turbo. Valve diameters in the Renault: 34.3 mm inlet ; 28.9 mm exhaust and ours 33x28.
There is lack of info, so I'm just comparing, hopping that someone skilled will teach us :$ ;)
Greeting!

The only thing I can remember that was invented to improve bhp for fiat was something called TURBINKA KOWALSKIEGO and it was nothing more than a small fan like thing mounted on the carburetor to improve mixing fuel with the air. Basically some people say that it was working some say that not. What i have found on the internet is rather not encouraging to play with it. More improvement will give you proper adjustment of the drum brakes eliminating friction:)
-
That Polish link does seem to want to open up for me so I am no wiser but are you saying that the Bis crankshaft is a straight swop/upgrade for the original crank (500 & 126 cranks are the same by the way)
I know it will fit looking at it but what about the balance. The Bis engine has a balence weighted front pulley and the flywheel is weighted (or unweighted) to suit.
-
Balancing must be done for sure. The machine shops can add weight to the pulley, flywheel and crankshaft if needed.
Yes, that link is not active now, but hopefully one day... Lot of info in there.
-
The thing is that the heavily weighted pulley on the Bis must work in conjunction with the flywheel which is a very heavy piece of metal. Also the pulley will not fit an aircooled as it is much deeper so you would not be able to align the fan belt :$
-
Yes, the pulley and the flywheel are different, so we need the aircooled ones. All together with the clutch plate and the calculated additional "bob weight" on the place of the con rod/piston group go to balance.
-
This is true the crank from the bis was a more dynamic set up allowing higher revs to be achieved with less deflection. The only rule to fitting this setup to a aircooled would be if you use the flywheel and pulley from a aircooled 126 then the benefits will be lost even if you get the crank balanced.
The only way I would see to use a bis crank in an air cooled engine is to use the flywheel from the bis then have a front pully made from steel machined to fit with the same counter weight that the bis front pulley has already, then get it all balanced together. Only problem with this is cost
-
OOOOW this is making my brain hurt and I am well confusificated :D
-
Well, the Cinquecento 700 flywheel and pulley are different, and it's still worth. :) The pulley has a bit more weight, just like Panda 30 (the only difference with the standard AC pulley). Additional weight is possible to attach even using screws (better welded maybe), but how much, the machine will say.
The Bis's flywheel, I'm not sure, if will fit, cos the ring gear is thinner than the aircooled one, and the starter will need to reach deeper. But I don't see any reason not to use the normal one. You can drill the 4 holes at the same place. One good thing about the Bis's one - it has less peripheral weight.
PS - Standard 650 flywheel is 7,370kg vs Bis 6,590kg.
-
Now that crankshaft pulley is different to a Bis in that the Bis has a much larger counter weight. The flywheel also is different in that it only has two large holes for lightening as opposed to four on the Bis. So it looks to me that there are more variables here where the crank pulley and flywheel have to be matched. Smallcox , our UK Guru , has explained the theory of the weights and balencing to me. It all made sense and seemed to come down to the dynamic bending moments on the crank as the power and revs go up with the pulley and flywheel opposing the bending force coming from the pistons.
So if the Bis crank is a higher spec then I guess that it could be fitted to an aircooled for normal running. But what is normal ? My 499ccs motor will rev to over 6,000 rpm when you push the noise peddle :)
-
Standard 650E engine: 24hp @ 4500rpm, 41.5Nm @ 3000 rpm
As you can see there's no point in revving it over 5000-5500 rpm (especially with points ignition).... so normal running (dynamic running :D) would be between 3000 rpm and 4500 rpm.
-
crankshaft from CC is different than this one from BIS :)
