Are you after a solid state one or the old wirewound coils type ?

noticed a couple on ebay the other day. but they said they took them off car, as they had gone alternator, do is yours alt or dyno. and do they both use reg's just difo ones. as i'll be in the same boat as mine is a project with no wiring in it at all.
