Found this for sale in Slovakia. It is such a shame I`m not home at the moment, as I would have definitely bought it...
It has got a Skoda Favorit engine and a 5 speed Skoda gearbox with modified drive shafts.
They claim, it would do 0-60mph in 6 sec.
Found a video of it on You Tube. Here is the link.

Found some more info about it on the Slovakian 126 Forum.
There are few pics on there of the moded gearbox.

I think it is quiet interesting, and for me this would be the route to go down. The Rapid engine with some mods would make 70-80hp easy and I never had a gearbox problem in any of my old Skodas. My 130 Estelle could do 110mph with a standard engine and 5 speed box. [-/
The only problem is, it might be a bit bum heavy, but on the other hand I can`t imagine it would be much more than a cinquecento or punto engine...

Bonus is, it is still aircooled, no cutting about, so may not need any test afterwards.
trying to get the engine and box fitted are hell. Tried this a while ago while still in Poland, and gave up in the end, tried to keep the Skoda box and engine together.
