Okay I'm here to pick your brains...
Just fitted the new exhaust on Baxter. However, the exhaust doesn't appear to have any brackets, do you think it should? So it is held on purely by the pipes which lead to the engine. As the engine ticks over the exhaust is vibrating independently, and I guess it will eventually snap off.
Am I missing something here?
Cheers guys!

i would imagine tht it should have brackets . . or as u say it's just going to snap off.
maybe someone with a Haynes can tell ya what you need.

Chris you are a star!
Thank you!
Haven't got a clue what I'm looking at but I'm sure the other half will do.
Wendy
PS. Which way up does the picture go?
(ONLY KIDDING!!!!)

no problem wendy, i have a feeling they are still on the old exhaust
let me know how u get on!
if i remember correctly they are like a strip of metal with square holes at the ends.

The old exhaust's bracket is welded on.
The exhaust I've bought is a genuine Fiat exhaust from a main dealer but has no bracket?
-
dear o dear, welded on, blimey!!
right, next step is to leave a post on here see if any one has any spare exhaust brackets.
otherwise get in touch with fiat and see if they have any. i dont think they have ever come with brackets im afraid!!
what a bummer!
regards
Chris

why not take the bracket off the old one by means of force, and weld it onto the new exhaust
-
your right it is an option!
but for the sake of a few £'s u can do it properly and it will last longer!
wendy another thing i would do is get another coat of high tempreture paint in it! they rust badly, and as uve probable just found out they r expensive!

Been on to the main dealer today, they do an aftersales bracket which does the job but, I think, differently to the one shown in your pictures.
They should have it in tomorrow morning.
Apart from that, we got the back lights working and new windscreen wipers. Maybe able to get an MOT before the end of the week, I hope!
Thanks for all your help!

thats super Wendy!!!

Hi Wendy
sorry to read about your exhaust problems  I think it is about time some of our UK friends paid a visit here - your exhaust and brackets are easy to get and sooooooooo much cheaper than UK. Come on Chris, organise a rally in the Czech Republic :!: :!: (actually, we have one, with about 100 of our little friends taking part)

Graham, would it take one or two seats on a plane to fit a 126 in  or do you think it would fit in the overhead storage compartment then I could take it on as hand luggage :D
