Title: so cheap
Post by: The Doctor on December 19, 2005, 09:02:22 PM
Hi everyone
first, don't like the bickering in a recent topic regarding carpets - let's keep it friendly, eh   :?:
secondly, my neighbour's 126 a/c has developed terminal failure of the front suspension, so he is selling it for £30 :!:  Seems they are so common out here, that when something goes awry, they ditch them and buy a new one!!

Hi Chris, Richard, Paul and GREGS656
Thanks to all of you for the help; it was the threads on the head, back and front.  the outer was easy to do but I managed to do the inner as well without removing the head - just a dextrous use of lights, a mirror and patience :!:  now she's as quiet as she should be. Took me a long time to find helicoils over here!
Regarding prices, Greg; an original exhaust is about £6.50, tyres including tube cost less than £20 a set, engine covers £1.50, so on and so on. (They were built in Poland, ten miles away from me, so spares are freely available (including carpets, hint hint).
Yes Chris, I am still thinking of the bigger bumpers, have one or two scrappers nearby that I will have a look at.
Question, :?:  maybe obvious, but do 13 inch wheels, ie off a BIS or similar, fit straight on to a Maluch, which has originally 12 inch wheels :?:
Cheers all, Graham

yes,the 13'' from a bis go right on,but the 12''s are better, have fitted my bis with some from my aircooled, much better ride and handling,i think its to do with the larger profile tyres,and....the 126 was always supposed to have 12''s as standard, and bis suspension is the same..........
i think they used 13''s from the 127? maybe to cut costs? dont know why but they dont suit the car at all.in my opinion.

may i add,,the bis is used as daily transport over pothole'd jersey roads, the 12''s have improved that ride.and its a perfect excuse for binning those godawfull bis wheel trims....................
