Her is a picture from the Fiat 126 Club Poznan. This is a very active club.
I just spent a weekend overthere. Perfectly organized.
They want to set up a meeting on 5/6/7 august 2011. They are trying to make it as international as possible.
So they asked me to put this anouncement on your forum.
Untill now, only the date has been set. But as soon as I know more about organisation and program, I will let you know.

Will you guys be able to help if the car breaks down?
My breakdown insurance refuses because the car is over 10 years old :oops:

In Poland help is no problem at all.
And maybe it is a good idea to drive to Poland in a group of Maluch, Konvooi?.
So when something goes wrong, there are many maluch Fans to help.
I personally always drive with a standard package of parts to help me or the people I am driving with.
So do not worry about driving this distance. I have done this many times, and mostly alone:

And then there are these very active forums. When somebody gets stranded, we just put it in several forums and you can be sure of help, in the Netherlands, Germany and Poland.

Looks like fun, but worried that if the engine were to blow I'd be stranded :-X
Looked into overseas breakdown cover for a 126 and it seems either very expensive or not on offer :(
Anyone else with an incling to do a jolly to the continent? :oops:

This is going to be the service car for The Netherland, packed with spareparts and towing a maluchambulance to rescue every stranded 126.
And if necessary we could even build in another engine. Nothing is impossible.

Welcome.
Take heart:) I am traveling for years 1973 Innocenti Mini in Europe riding on the International Mini Meeting. (longest run is Spain in 2005, 2500 miles one way:)
So far I have not had a major accident. Important to ride in at least 2-3 cars. In the event of failure of the "small one" I think he will be willing to help.

I drove my Mini out to Poland last Summer to collect parts for my Fiat, which I bought from Poland in April.
Maybe see you in Switzerland for this year's IMM?

Hi if anyone is going to make the trip from the UK let me know as I am near Berlin so might join the convoy from there or at that time of the year can provide a good barbeque if anyone wants to take a break Plenty of parking space at home here and the beer is good

Pete is sulking coz there will be no scantily clad dancing girls so he won't come. Bis13 is panel-beating, Dajwid is building a trailer, Rusty is looking for his tool kit in the conservatory, Smallcox has his engine in bits, I'm running on 3 wheels as shattered one during the icy weather, Stuey had a flat and cannot get a jack under the car, so that leaves.......who?

you have to organize an uk team to poland because this year polish 126 and other " from behind iron courtain" cars go to loch ness this year in a "zlomball" race. so you have to make it equal

What's this about sulking as theres no scantily clad girls Did no one tell you all they prefer to go completly nude in Germany Theres plently of parking at the local nudist beaches so bring the sun tan oil so you don't get any little bits sunburned

Not to worry edsaysyes, It was just me poking fun at Pete.
I am sure none of the UK members would be too keen on getting anything burn't by the sun :P
Biggest problem for me is finding break down insurance as I have probably said before. Most breakdown services eg AA will want a much bigger premium for anyone wishing to be covered on the continent, in a vehicle older than 10 years.
If anyone has found a better solution please shout it out :)

Not sure what the situation would be with a UK address but my ADAC cover is for any car I am driving anywhere in the EU and thats only about 79 euro a year

Currently I am doing mini project "Mr Bean", if I finish it I will go before June.

Poland is an intresting country
We have intersting cars
We want to meet other 126p owners
Plan of meeting (not finally)

We are opening gates at 8 o clock
registration
free time
Supper at 19 o clock
Free time, integration, dancing...
Saturday
8:30 till 10:00- breakfast
10:00 till 11:00- beauty contest, we are choosing most beautiful girl of meetng
At 11:00 expolration/ visiting region
about 14:00 other competitions like most beautiful car, best car audio etc
17.00 till 18.30 dinner
about 19.30 giving awards
free time, concert, dancing, integration, fun
Sunday
8:00 -10:00 breakfast
12.00 end of meeting
We have some more plans but it;s under construction.

Looks like a great event. Sadly in the UK we struggle to get half a dozen cars together :(
