Hello! Very sad to hear you are selling your 126 Bis. For those of you who are looking for a mint condition 126 Bis, look no further. I was eyeing this car before I bought my own minter. I saw Steve's car recently and it is in very good nick, enhanced by recently added sound system, Abarth alloys, sunroof, to name a few. If I did not have my other 126 Bis, I would buy this one!!! G O O D  L U C K!!!

Hello. How did the auction go?

It didnt , had a guy off the vzi (vw forum) buying it but due to a heart attack on the day he was picking it up, he has pulled out for now .

So it looks like its staying , sold the mini turbo so no need to sell really i,m still using it daily well over 5k now , no problems at all  :)

Will put it in the garage for the winter though so maybe a couple more weeks of use .
Will get it a bit lower all round  and maybe retrim the seats not sure yet .

How is yours going ?

Steve

Hello! Mine is going strong. I am very pleased with it. I drove to Stamford Hall, 200 miles (100 miles each way) and the Retro Rides which was 280 miles (140 miles each way). No problems at all. It cruised easily at 70 mph. The car got a lot of attention on both event - love it. Your Fiat has a lot of juicy modifications without compromising the original design, why not take your 126 to events like these and show it off!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!It is due for an MoT in October but I am confident it will fly through - hopefully.

I remember your Mini turbo. It was awesome!! One of a kind! You can always get another one and start the whole process of modifying it again, which is the best bit.

Well another timewaster , many long  phone calls more pictures and he then decides its to far to travel  ...lol

Still using it as my daily allthough have taken stereo out as the timewaster didnt want it grrrr .

So original parcel shelf back in .

have left the wiring and the door builds in so somebody can have a cd player fitted .

Did 110 miles in it yesterday to my beach hut in good old walton on the naze 70mph there and back purred along as usual....lol

Fully understand, I sold an astra on Ebay 4 times, Four bloody times

String of timewasters, bid then no contact or contact with a feeble excuse.

Good luck with the sale. I am sure you will find a buyer, or maybe fate is telling you something

I rekon Ebay should bring back "negative feedback" for buyers, that would maybe stop all the f*%#ing around.

If insurance value was agreed at £4,500, I'd guess at that ;)

£2700 , the agreed value was for insurance before the mods .

Came from italy and no the shocks for the rear are 500 , waste of money tbh, i still havnt done the rear .
Do what the guys who have done it do, take a leaf out , cut the rear coils etc, plenty been written on here .

i ve seen post of people cutting their spring, but thought they were trying to save money

you can use the uprated rear coils that are sold for the 500/126 aircooled versions however as you know there are no shorter bis rear damper on the market so its easier to just cut out a coil on the original spring and use the standard damper i dont know how much you know but if you fit rear dampers (from the aircooled) on the front along with a reverse eyed leaf spring then it will lower and stiffen up the front end.

rear aircool dampers and reverse eye'd leaf for the rear and chopped coil on the back it is

thank you both

Hi Steve,
My Bis is doing well and has been reliable apart from the one odd occassion when the car would not turn on ignition. So far, the problem has not occurred again. I haven't used it since we had the snow, so I miss driving it.

After having put up with the most  timewasters i have ever had on one car she has now sold .

Another month and i think i would have kept it for another summer .

New owner has be told of the site ,but has bought it for his wife who will use it daily , not sure he is into the classic car scene but my pop on here soon.

Thanks everyone for all your help and advice over the last year .

I will be lurking and who knows i may be back!!

Time to start on my new project (1960 Ford anglia)fitted with lotus twin cam.

Will post pics if anyone is interested ?

Steve
