Title: Totally freaked out!
Post by: kitten75 on July 19, 2010, 11:03:35 PM
Having lusted after all Fiats from a young age; 500, 126, 127, Panda, Uno etc I eventually bought my first 126 yesterday!!!!  I am so in love with this car it is unbelievable - took it out again tonight and couldn't stop smiling whilst driving it - even when some rude teenagers pointed and laughed!  What's freaking me out though is I have no idea about cars let alone 'special' ones like 126s and having read some of the posts here it seems all 126 owners are qualified Fiat mechanics!  What hope is there for me and my little Piccolino??  I want to treat him well and keep him happy but am worried that I won't be able to look after him...should i be worried?

In theory, if serviced regularly he should be fine, but there are other 126 guys in the area [-/

Remember only put it in first gear when you are stationary as it has no syncromesh on 1st gear, is it a bis or air cooled?

That'll help point the relevant nutter in your direction;)

Recovery membership is advised :-X

Everyone on here is a picture-aholic so put some pics up and welcome [-/ [-/ [-/

Thanks Darrell!  Nice to hear from you...

He's a 1990 BIS, all seems ok (?) to my naked ear/eye etc i.e. it starts and goes but like I say I want to keep him in good condition.

Think I've managed to post a picture...

Looks nice, Cinquecento wheels always go well on these babies :D
K666STW lives not too far away in Fife (if memory serves) and he also has a BIS, landyman I believe is also in the central belt somewhere but is more an Aircooled kinda guy.

I really need to stop visiting this forum, makes me feel the need to replace my lost 126 on a daily basis!

Landyman

You say you have workshop facilities available? That's great but I wouldn't have a clue what to do, ha.

I took the little one down to my mechanic today so he can check him over...i'm waiting to hear from him.  Hopefully he'll get a clean bill of health!  The one thing I have asked is if the beeping noise can be stopped whilst the indicators are on...it's driving me nuts!

Good to know you and Robin and are local to me, although a little white Polish BIS appeared outside my friend's flat on Easter Road the other day and til then I'd never seen another one in town...weird.
