Thought you may like to see my 500 im restoring, its taking a long time ..

wish i didnt have to get rid of my 126  :cry:

did a little more prep work to the 500 yesterday progress can be seen at :

we are going to red oxide the lot ... first , fit all the stuff on then fix brakes and lights etc ...... then mot ..

once motd can think about where to do this final coat of 2 pac .......

yes william , it does take time . you dont really know the cost and effort involved ..

especially when i only have my welder friend for a few hours on a saturday

it will be worth it to me in the end .


and of course it time and money .....  if i was minted i would just pay someone a few grand to do it all

but i would have no satifaction for the work done . and no imperections to laugh and joke about ..


you will see one day when you grow up  .. and become older

yer restorations are a logistics nightmare.

untill your doing it you can never tell how long its going to take, especially as your often waiting on parts or money!

you need some skills too, obviously you can develop them as you go but you gotta start somewhere.

how ever, its good fun and you have summut to show for it at the end!

if i were you william, do what me and a friend of mine are doing at the moment. Pick up an old chainsaw or strimmer; somthing with a small 33cc or 50cc engine (5 or 10 pounds down the local car boot) get an old steel push bike 10quid down local car boot, and attach one to the other. its a pretty simple thing to do but you would get a feel for engines etc. and there bloody entertaining when they're finished (if they work)
