Title: Exhaust wrap
Post by: ciccio on April 27, 2010, 08:41:43 PM
Hi Guys,

Can anyone advise if i'd benefit from lagging the exhaust downpipes with exhaust wrap at all.
If so can anyone recommend what i'd need .

Many thanks

Hi Ciccio,

I have used this wrap myself and to be honest it depend on wot benefits you are looking for, it will help slightly to keep the engine bay temp down but as ther is loads off air and room in the engine bay this is not realy an issue, but you can get nearer your engine when you stop for quick repairs at the side of the road. Downside is because your exhaust pipes run hotter with the wrap it can hardern the steel downpipes and cracks start to appear on the pipes (not so good) and as the exhaust is being vibrated on that two cyclinder engine this would only make matters worse. Increased miles per gallen the manufactures claim-all i can say is :-

Have fun Steve
