 Just fitted a new carb to mine (air cooled).
It's a Kehin off a CX500 Honda.
I used the Delorto adaptor and simply moved the linkage (after cutting-off the air cleaner and plating the hole left)
I then fitted a patented (by me) air cleaner using the original 126 air filter.
The linkage from the linkage bit to the carb wouldnt work no matter what I did so used a cable from the carb to the linkage thing..
What a difference, more power, smoother, and alot happier at speed 8)
I'll try get some pics up if anyone's interested, alot cheaper than a delorto conversion or a webber 40 and I think the CX carb is 43mm!

Darrell, I thought the cx500 had twin cabs, did you fit two carbs to the dolerto adapter. Very interested in this mod, any more info.

Yes the CX had twin carbs, I simply took one of them.
They fit a single carb to each piston on bikes for performance, i think it's to do with higher rpm.
An engine can only suck with one piston at a time so i figure a sigle is a proper job. I got the idea from the delorto fdz conversions, and from the bike carbs they fit to blitz buggies.
The single on a fiat engine is fine, in fact I cannot believe the result. The engine seems ro rev easier and I can swear it has more power.
It also seems to be using less fuel at higher speeds. Seems the same amount of fuel used at lower speed though.
Also seems to have more torque.
I'm thinking of dyno-ing it before I start playing cams.
You guys know me by now :oops:I've always got something new to play with on the bug :)
