I might try to go to this event. Aylesbury is not too far from me. Is it on the A41?

Quite a bit of interest then  :D Could be interesting , If you click the link it will give you all the details plus a link to an entry form. Cars up to 1986 are allowed to enter. If you do enter for £4 then that gets your car and occupents into the show field as opposed to £5 each and the public car park. You can do a late entry for £10 by going to the cafe at the start of the road run. Plus reminder that its free camping if needed  [-/

It would be good if all the 126s can park side by side on the day but I suppose it is not possible.

If I can get an MOT on the 500 then I'm there! (major holes in the sill!!)
Should be a weekend with the mig, I really need to give it a full front end rebuild, but I don't have the time this year at all!

All I know about welding sills is next time I'm going to try tilt the car right-up onto it's side because burnt the heck out of my hair, arms etc trying to weld them up with the car in it's normal position

I will not take part in the rally as my 126 bis is a 1990. It would be great if all the club126uk members can park together, sort of a 126/500 club stand. Can this be arranged particularly it a member is an exhibitor on the day.

Sadly cant go now as car is out of MOT, unless anyone knows an "understanding" garage in herts/beds/bucks/outer mongolia (willing to travel lol)??

Despite a complete brake overhaul within the last 1000miles and sorting the electrics out apparently brakes are under par (not suprising as the puney factory drums on each corner are hardly vented discs!) and the headlights are too dim, again wasnt aware they had zenon's in 1973....grrrr all very frustrating as she is running sweet as a nut too :( why cant garages realise that classics are not designed to modern specs!!

:D I use the OLD DAIRY garage in Tring which is a little run out along the A41 I believe for you. It is a bit like some out of Last of the Summer Wine & they are thorough but have an understanding of older cars .  [-/

:D Just back from the rally ahead of the rain. Two little Fiats there , my 500L and an interesting 126. An eye catching 126 was parked up in the "Special" section at the entrance. Not bad for a late entry  [-/
Walked back after parking up & took a couple of pics, did the auto jumble & checked out the motors then met Steve ( smallcox ) , the owner of the 126.
Steve has a passion for his 126 and has kind of grown up with it as he has had it for about 20 years, from bog standard to where it is now. He is also a very skilled engineer from the conversation we had . So he is no "fly by night" bling merchant but in it for long haul.
It would be great if Steve can tell all on here and I am sure it will happen but in the meantime I can tell you power freaks that he is running a 700 ccs unit , turbo charged with intercooler, Bis dif but needs another gear (5th) as he can red line in 4th very quickly from a standing start.
Top speed has 3 digits in present form and more upgrades are planned but the guy tows a trailer when he goes on holiday  ::)

Hi Guys,

Just going through the forum and this was the first show off the year that I meet a club member (Rusty). If this show is on next year, as i did camp and was free this could be worth considering a major 126 meet up if all planned in advance. ie get that dame MOT in advance and engine over heating sorted etc. then we could have a club stand like the MG and Triumph bodies.
After all it's central. [-/

Who's up for this next year

I sense this is a possible proving ground for Steve's 126 :)

I'll be up for it, I wanted to go this year but think my car was having a hissy-fit with 321 ignition.

I think the main one will be getting people to go and participate [-/

I promis I will  ;)
