Tried my fsm again today and got nothing/nada/zip. Where can I get hold of a working starter motor and servo?

wouldnt trust that one, there was a reconditione done on the other day!!

you sure its your starter motor??

That's an older 'pull-start' motor, isnt it? Dont know if it'll fit anyhow.
Not even sure if that's the problem, you right. Hmm maybe I will start with the points, condenser, timing, etc.

What happened to that list of reputable fiat specialists you were going to compile?  :wink: There must be someone in north wales that knows his fiat engines.

Hello mate,are you sure it is the starter?Mine stick's sometimes but i'm pretty convinced its the ring gear on the flywheel.An engine(any engine for that fact)will stop in the same place 90% of the time which means the starter engages in the same spot wearing it out.(the ring gear that is)Put the car in gear and roll it a couple of feet and see if the starter starts working.I've been meaning to pull the engine out and turn the flywheel round by 90 degrees but I can't be arsed at the moment.I've learnt to stop the engine early and catch a good part of the ring gear  :lol:

Paul doesnt  the starter motor still rotate if you have worn flywheel teeth? But it makes a horrible grinding noise and the starter does not engage.

Do you know what i'm goin to tell ya?your right!!!The boys' in work are callin me a right numpty :D Still can't be arsed pullin the starter out though :D I feel like a first year apprentice doh!!!!
