I managed to find one from Ricambio. The strap was for a 500 but it is the same strap used in the 126.

Just in case others are thinkng of purchasing a Fiat 500 spare wheel rubber strap - DO NOT! It does not fit! It is too short. I bought it from Ricambio who assured me that it would fit with no problems.

:D They don't fit this is one of the few parts that is no longer available new.
Only chance is to get one from a scrapper. I tried for a long time to source one in Poland, very hard to find.

I would have thought that there would be loads of the stuff in Poland. Kindly let me know if you find one please. I can tell you right now, order one for me please if you find one in Poland. I checked out the specialist suppliers selling 500/126 parts in the "reputable companies" section but they not appear to sell them. I will look at the websites again, I may have missed it. I am sure that there are specialist suppliers in Poland as well but I can not seem to find one.
Many thanks!

with a bit of "system d" you can fit a leather belt to replace this rubber strap a suggestion is an old belt from some cycle toe clips .

Being polish I obviously have one or two of them in my dark, small and stinky garage :) :) so feel free to help yourself to one of them Amateb :)

I just bought an original 126 spare wheel strap from Axel Gerstl. The part just arrived today. It is exactly what I need. Briliiant! It cost EUR5.48 (incl. 19% VAT) + postage.

mine's just dangling near the spare wheel [the strap, that is :P] - anyone know to what it is meant to be attached, and how?

For a moment (and only a moment) I wondered what you meant.

From what I understand (mine was missing) it should have a hook on the end which you hook into the centre hole of the spare wheel to stop it from bouncing around.

You can still get them relatively cheaply from Axel Gerstl.
