Title: INJECTION
Post by: dialup_2001 on November 01, 2009, 09:47:30 PM
I have spent soooo long searching polish and italian sites for information on fuel injection for the 126. I feel it's quite a task to do but once made a Hillman Avenger run on maestro injection and understand the principles. Does anyone know of any that have been done I have visited http://web.archive.org/web/20080604073906/http://www.fiat-furious.pl/html/tuning_a/wtrysk_bis/wtrysk_bis.htm but pictures are not there. My reason for wanting this is after modifying my 126 engine and exhaust setup, it would be difficult to get the thing running right without getting into emulsion tubes and jet sizes. With an ecu setup, I will have a lambda sensor reporting the air/fuel ratio, no choke and the ability to play with the setup using a laptop not a spanner. I have also seen the scion sprays post and was wondering if there was any update. What do you think about lambda sensor position? Is mounting it in the silencer ok in terms of getting a correct reading? Or maybe a 2 in 1 pipe should be made so the sensor can be mounted correctly. I am lucky as I have a distributorless 126 with a small ecu for the spark.

Hi there, I haven't been here for a while, also not done anything to my 126 in the second half of last year.  The lambda sensor position I used in the back of the silencer seems ok, I didn't run it in closed loop mode but the readings I was getting from the wideband sensor were very stable and predictable.

I have heard comments that there is a lot of benefit on these engines from going away from the mechanical ignition and using something programmable.  Since the car was made in poland at a time when I imagine the fuel quality may have been variable, I expect the ignition timing is quite conservative as standard.

My next mods will be to set up the programmable ignition timing.  I may also replace the fuel injection with a later version that we have developed for motorcycles - more complex software with more functions, will also use a bigger throttle body etc. but needs a bit of work to get something to fit the 126.

Also need to make some suspension mods (I lowered it, now the springs go loose on full droop so I need to mod the shock mountings).

Hello.
Probably the article was about a conversion on a 126 bis.
It can't be possible to see a picture at the least.
I think to have seen that conversion some years ago.
It should be a single point Weber Marelli from a cinquecento 899.
I can't help for the injection and for the conversion but I can share a trigger wheel.

https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B_SVA8YzhJVwdkhBSG56RHRIRjA/edit?pli=1

DXF file for laser cutting.
It's made to be fit on the standrd engine pulley.
Nobody still uses it.
I'm waiting for seeing the first proto.
In case of 60-2 trigger wheel you have to cut 2 of the 60 theet.
Bye.

Hello.
I forget to say who drawn the trigger wheel and to thank him.
That's another trigger wheel by him.
