Title: BIS Flywheel
Post by: fly on August 12, 2009, 10:42:05 PM
Has anyone got a spare BIS flywheel knocking about they would like to part company with? - or alternatively know of anywhere that sells BIS flywheels, or even just a manufacturer of flywheels who might beable to knock a tasty light weight one up?...just a standard one would still be nice though.

Cheers.

I do not have a Bis flywheel here to prove it but I reckon it will be the same as the aircooled cars. I have a 500 stripped down at the moment and could give you details if you wish . It will at least open up the possibilities for you  [-/

You are good man to know.

Ill put a tape over my existing flywheel tonight - might even go as far as to count the teeth.

There are reports that the Fiat 500 flywheel is lighter than the standard 126 flywheel.
Anyone confirm if this information is correct?

Just had a weigh and measure, overall diameter is 265mm and weighs in at a hefty 14.6lbs and a crack in the bathroom scales; from the ring gears i've seen for sale I think that makes it 25mm wider/girthier (which isnt a word) than an aircooled's.
