Saw a nice cc sporting steering wheel in my local breakers, is this a straight swap or what mods are required to fit it.

It's a straight swap Peel back rubber centre or just pull cap out, 23mm socket, undo the bolt a few turns and then use hands clenched up and bang the wheel towards you, if it won't budge, use knees to apply pressure of wheel towards you and gently tap column with hammer
Polish LHD '97 Cinquecento alloys, leather steering wheel, Escort RS Turbo half leather bucket seats, sports exhaust, daily changes

According to another post, someone said the spline is different so be careful, my cinquecento steering wheel went straight on my 126 but this MAY be because mine is much newer that most as it's a Polish import from 1997

mine went straight on - 95 cinq onto a 93 126.
since then somebody donated me a wooden wheel which was an aftermarket one he had used on a cinq. Again, straight on, although some slight strangeness I haven't fully unravelled about the horn, if you lean hard on the steering column it sometimes beeps the horn.

i have had three different types of spline on my cars so be carefull theres one for the bis and two for the aircooled.

I have a Astrali suede wheel fitted in mine with a standard fiat fit mountney boss and mine is a 1990 Bis and funily enough it has a similar horn issue with it beeping on full left lock whcih I havent got the bottom of yet.
