Hey Everyone.
I'm sure if it was easy I'd have heard about it by now, but I met a guy Yesterday who told me a fiat 850 motor goes easily into a 126..
does anybody know if someone has done this? is it really a straight swap?

Only example i can think of is a guy from serbia fitting a 903cc yugo engine, which is wery similar to the 850, and there wasnt much cutting involved...
heres a thread, scroll thru the pages, there are a few pics...

The Fiat 850 engine turns anticlockwise. I had an 850 engine in my 600D, but it was a right nightmare to get it all together, and get the engine running the right way.
I was thinking about putting an 850 Sport Coupe engine in the 126, but I think the easiest way would be using an 850 gearbox.

ah, well how hard would it be to fit the gearbox aswel? is it much bigger? I'd imagine the axles would need to be changed.. I have an 850 sports coupe which may not be eligable for registration, if that's the case I'd be fairly happy to try the motor in a 126.
