Title: AWESOME
Post by: Dom on February 24, 2009, 02:05:55 PM
Once in a lifetime opportunity to get a Steyr Puch engine. Supposedly far more durable than a 500/126 unit

Interesting. Wondering what sort of price it will fetch. Just checked his other items, and in one of the photos you can see two 126s rusting away :( Looks like he has got some interesting stuff there... ???

well it all depends on the availability of parts theres a german company that does stuff for these but for example exhaust replacement it could be mega money

This is a fantastic engine:  Styr used to buy 500/126 rolling shells from Fiat then install there own flat 2 cylinder engines, they were better balanced and have nearly twice the power of the early 500's.

I put this table together a while ago.

Only until the 70s when Villiars stopped. It is no illegal to own and use one on the road, I don't know why 85mph in a plastic 3 wheeled car with hardly any brakes. The government crushed them all. Spoil sports.

I think there may have been a bit of an outcry that the mobily challenged should be cared for rather than the gene hunt philosophy of kill them! now behave or I'll come round your house and stamp on all your toys! LOL

The engines used in the invacar were 500/600cc if only you could get hold of the later type 600cc with the automatic gearbox. that would be really 8) as Dajwid mentioned they were no slouch either 80mph plus [-/
