Think we gonna get this guy to change his name to Selwyn Frogett or FranK Spencer . .
got to work to find colleagues car in garage - nothing to unusual yet (T reg Rover 45 ? ? ) as he does like to tinker with em.
Later on his shift finishes and I can see him working on it with his crew mate.
As I go round side of the ambulance I see the drivers door is completely off and they are about to bray the door hinges back into position and also trying to reshape the wing where it meets the door hinge .
"are you going to tell him what happened?" says Rover owner.
So apparently this is what caused the damage.
Yesterday due to the snow - Rover owner goes out to move the car but finds he cant - 1st gear - careful clutch - wheelspin - reverse gear - careful clutch - wheelspin so after a few more attempts he leaves it ticking over - still in gear with the wheels spinning.. gets out and gets a shovel and proceeds to clear the snow from the drivers side front wheel... it begins to find grip -- so he goes to the passenger side and clears that .
So the car goes "ta much" and now sets off in reverse straight into the garage doors with the driver door still open..
The towbar takes out the garage door while a metal post takes the drivers door off..
brilliant - good job it was his own car and not his wifes :lol: :applause:

Thing is the white one was made from 10cm thick soviet iron, my bis was made after the wall fell, and made from bitchy west-european "i can be pierced with a needle" metal... :P

ha ha i think you got it all wrong who remembers the 80s soviet steel farce that killed any chance of having many examples of popular models and marques as future classics the quality of the stuff was as good as making a car out of cardboard!! so dont give me the old communist block soviet supreme quality bollards if the reds were still in and making cars your bis would be unattainable on your wages then you would have to wait 3 years for one then find that the interior was made of bakelite!!!! oh and you wouldnt be able to read this post as you wouldnt have a pc in the first place ....

mick you dont have to lecture me on the comunist problem, it took a 5 year war to drive them out of croatia, but thats another story. as for soviet metal, have you ever driven a lada?? those things vere indestructable! not very advanced but indestructable. and what is the worlds best suv? well the mercedes g but after that - Lada Niva! all these modern plastic gay quasi off roaders get stuck driving on gravel, where the lada can go anywhere, no probs... Yes i am the wise man :D seriously, the puch g is a spartan version intented for the army and stuff, croatian army uses those, we apparently have too much money to bother with cheap vehicles ::)
and that clip you posted: really, what happened to the side intakes?? this is the first commercial for the 126, perhaps this was a prototype and they put them on later... ???

the film clip was released in 1982 but was filmed ten years before. the car in the vid had a bambino engine hence the extra holes on the engine cover to further aid cooling. these can be seen at 00:34)
so yes either it was a prototype or it was one of the very very first models.
