My name is Konrad from Gostyń, Poland. I'm 27. I'm a lab technician in an automotive industry. I share a 126p 1992 650e with my younger brother and own a Pug 206cc. The car belonged to our aunt for many years a drove only to work and back. Generaly it is not a bad condition, but rust is comming out on the side skirts and under side windows. It ran over 71 000 km now.
It is a well equiped car as for an 126 in polish version, you (for example english) maight not know that export cars were better equiped than polish local market. So it has a windshield went fan, adjustable seats, heated rear window (yes! not all had that), opened side rear windows, and wiper speed regulation. Thats it about the car.
attachment description
1 flying tile began a series of windshield changes which ended up on 4 in first month of ownership, 4th still stays on
2 after paint polishing and tires and rims painting
3 chess roof took half a day
4 12'' fiat alloys 4 days of work to restore, white blinkers, chrome wipers,
still in the basemanet chrome bumpers and ski roof rack wainting to be installed
also black and white chess seat covers are planned to get in
thats about it - tymczasem...

Hello Konrad (-*
I like your 126, it looks just like mine, except mine is a BIS. Over here in Cro we also got the less equipped version (apperently they didnt think we were west Europe lol :D ), none of that equipment you mentioned, ive installed the rear opening windows just yesterday, and i plan to get all that extra stuff eventually... anyway hope to read more about your car... later...
p.s. i didnt quite understand, what happened to the 4 windshields? :P
-
about the windshields again ... i know my english is not perfect
during the first month of having the 126 we had to change windshields 4 times
first because of the tile
second just broke wiyh no reason a week later
third was bought very fast there was no time to look for a good one and it was to scrached (pooy vision at sun light)
so eventauly we bought 4th and it ok for now
cost of every windsheild was 10 zl ;D about 2 puonds (all used bought on scrapyard ofcourse) thats also why i like this car everty thing is cheap like sh...
-
No luck eh? hope the 4th holds...
Parts are still cheap and easy to come by, but are getting more expensive... well at least out side of Poland...
-
as for equipment the far west the better equipment was ;)
the parts are still cheap when you search on scrapyards, new parts are becomming an expensiv and rare market. 5 years ago there was no problems with scrapyard parts but last years were an acellerated process of removing 126ers from streets because of their low value and now you have to hunt for good stuff specially from older models. I my self gave my white 126 1989 650E to scrapyard 5 years ago. But there still lots to find. For example i got an almost new roof rack from my friend for a pack of coffe, also a polish ski roof rack for fiats for free from another guy, the 12'' alloy whells (with 2 good tyres on it) you see on the picture i bought at a scrap yard for 140 zł + renovation cost (about 40 euro) and the chepest you can buy now are 70 euro before renovation to 250 euro renovated and they are very rare.
where can i see your bis pictures ?
we don't have much bises in poland we prefered aircooled thats why bis didn't make it on production as long as 126p.
but i see some in my town maybe 5 or so.

i got it from a guy in Zagreb, who went to Belgrade, Serbia, to buy them, the lad who bought them is a member of the Yugo fan club, so he bought a few dozen and then sold it to the rest. i dont know where you could get them, other than the store in SRB, i have the adress if you want it... ;)
they shine just as good as the originals, so far no one has flashed their lights at me 8)
You can post pics by using image hosting sites like ImageShack, photobucket, and so on...

Very true indeed. All I can say in Polish is "W*nker" "I love you" and "F*ck you"....therefore, not a great deal of use!
-
;) Hey Normski if you carry on like that you might end up as the next Top Gear presenter ! </
-
I can just see the comment... "Hatefull, hateful little cars... no v8, no ac, no gps, why do people drive theese???" Lol, well thats what clarkson would say anyways... :P
-
i visited scraps on my way back home today didn't found anything special (beside 1 intergrolin sport seat, but poo condition) but i nave the sack for windshield fluid wich i looked for. mine didn manage the -22 wehad in january
-
My sack was made somewhere round here (it says made in Yugoslavia on the cap) and the seatbelt clips have ZCZ written on them (Zavodi Crvena Zastava) so in some sense its partly made here... WUUUHUUU :D :D
-
some of parts were made out side poland and used for different markets. example we had an yugoslavian (i dont know english word - it's there where the rear axle crosses with the main power/runnig shaft) in 125p or we were mounting zastawa 1100p in 70's also fiat 131p mounted from italian parts. so there can a lot more parts made somwhere else in 126 but bises were made only in poland as far as i know.
-
yes, the bises were made in poland, but some parts are not polish...
and we had a Zastava 126p, which was assembled by zastava from polish made parts, but only in small quantities, and i havent seen one of them, but i was told they exist...
-
o and the 125p was called Polska Zastava here.. ( PZ 125p)...
-
i didn;t know that
i've seen many 125p in egypt they were called polski fiat at least 2 badges i've seen were polish
they were exported and also assembled in egypt
i'll paste some pictures when i find them
