Hi folks, better introduce myself. I have a 1987 aircooled 126 which I have owned for 11 yars. I bought it as cheap transport during my sixth-form years, and have never got rid of it. It saw me right through Uni and my first couple of years at work, after which (in 2002) it was getting so frilly I laid it up in a garage where it has lain since.
It was always my intention to get around to working on it, and have had sporadic bursts at it ever since. I now ahve a fully cleaned and prepared engine bay, a decent engine and gearbox and am just starting tackling the shell in earnest. Anyway, this time, I'm pretty confident I'll see it though to completion. Other projects have come and gone in the meantime - Morrin Minor, Allegro, Maxi and so on) but there's nothing to distrast me this time!
(It's Azzurro - that milky blue - and I'm aiming for fully stock as per original...)
Anyway, thanks for reading this far, hope to be on here more often!!
Cheers then,
Rich

Hello Rich, welcome to the forum.
Snap a few pics of the project, and if you want to start a topic in the "Your restorations" section.
Cheers, Gordan ;)

Treu, headlights are the same!!
No, I have a soft spot for all 'unloved' cars, most of them are much better than history records. As usual, a few contenmporary problems become part of folklore and get blown out of all proportion. I love my Allegro, it's fab! Apperently by '81 (which mine is) they compared very favourably with the opposition, but the damage was already doen by then. Bl indistrial relations didn't help, of course!
And I haven't seen one other than mine since I've owned it - similar length of time since I last saw a 126 'out in the wild' I suppose!!!
Anyway, I don't want to go on - this is a 126 forum right ?!! [-/
Thanks all,
Rich
