Title: Club's New Forum Board
Post by: ChrisRLewis on November 24, 2008, 05:25:56 PM
You may have noticed, there are quite a few changes on the forum.

A new board has been installed. The reason for this is that the previous board stopped doing security updates so there was a security issue. I have also transferred the site to a different hosting company, so we will see if there are improvements. There were a few problems with the board transfer, the new board is not showing the users avatars. I am still trying to get this working, but you can upload a new avatar if you require.

There will be minor changes to the board in the next few days so be prepared for a few down times.

Other than that the board is working, if you find any bugs or problems please post here.

Thanks for the thumbs up!

I for one do not like change but this was a necessity. I hope to add the Garage Section and all the other bits when I get the time.

One problem is a log on problem with Internet Explorer, keeps log in off. Firefox seems ok though? Need some feedback if you are having problems with IE?

I am trying to work on a fix, it's due to adjustments I am making with the cookie settings. Internet explorer is another type of problem and that's not a simple fix. I am going to change the url which may take a few hours to have affect. It should cure the cookie problem. The new forum url will now be http://fiat126clubuk.freepgs.com/ until I can sort things out.

Yes there is, and it's so much easier  ;)
At the bottom of your new message you will see "Additional Options" just click on that and browse for your pic and then post

Looking good and no probs apart from the avatar.

Smileys look chunky, have they put on some middle age spread?

During the board transfer all messages from the old board are now labeled new. Which is a bit annoying, so if you want to get rid of the new label. Click http://club126uk.co.uk/smf/index.php?action=unread;all;start=0 you then have the option to select 'Mark ALL messages as read'

There are still a few bugs on the new board.

However the site is being transferred to a new server over the next few days, which will hopefully cure all of these small problems.

The transfer of site to a new server has now been completed, hopefully this upgrade will improve the speed of the site and stop the time out errors

Some members reported a problem with the picture attachment I think that this is now cured?

If you find any problem with the new site please let me know?

Gordan I am still working on the Image Gallery, hopefully it will be fully functional later today.

I hope to add the Garage section at a later date, there are a few problems in adding the 'Garage' back to this new board, but I have backed up all of the old Garage information so when it does return hopefully nothing will be lost
