What engine will fit into a 1990 126 watercooled with ease and not a high cost.

main problem is the gearbox, it will take the 704cc engine and not much stronger so if you wanna put anything in which would make the effort worth while youve gotta upgrade the drivetrain and that sadly isnt straightforward so unless you have some good vehicle engineering skills then its not easy!

Im personally looking into a vfr 800 engine on a chaindrive at the mo...
long time in the planning sadly!

why not fit an aircooled engine in a bis... just some wacky thinking, dont think any1 has done it before...  :smt026  :smt026  :smt039  :smt047

That has been done the other way around with a Bis engine into a Fiat 500 so why not the other way around, a tuneable lump with great access with that back hatch  :D

I have often wondered about the boxer engine from a BMW bike.

Wonder if we could squeeze a flywheel onto it and make up an adaptor plate.

easiest swap and keeping 4 seats is prob cinq/siec, check out TRS.

thanks every one . the engine in it at the moment is jst over heatin after a mile, if that. and i tryed a few things and failed so i thought swap the engine for some thing else.

The Smart car motor seems to be a good option and probably easier than a bike engine conversion?

for your original heat issues, try running the car without the thermostat installed, and make sure theres no blockage anywhere.. you can buy radiator flush stuff. if the engine is running ok, theres no reason why it cant be fixed, and doing that will be a hell of alot easier than trying to jam something else in there.

as far as the smart engine.. the smart is ALOT wider than a 126, and it looks like the engine setup uses up most of that width.
