Title: Info on buying a Polish 126 please.

Hi Guys,

I'm looking for a cheapish air-cooled 126 that has fairly sound bodywork. I've been told a Polish import would be my best bet.

Does anyone have any info about how easy or difficult it is to register an import in the UK?

Here are the questions i have -

What paperwork is required at the time of purchase?

What paperwork is required after purchase to register the car?

Are the speedos in Poland in MPH or KPH?

Other than changing the headlamps to left dips & moving the fog light to the right-hand side are there any other mechanical changes required to pass a UK MOT?

Any answers to these questions or anything else that may be relevant but I haven't thought of would be much appreciated.

Welcome.
When we brought mine back my parents sorted all the paper work as i still couldnt drive.  I will ask them what was involved.  The speedo was kph and i changed it.  Dont think that much else is required, i also fitted rear belts.

just a wild guess bu it think new rearw. mirrors? most have just one on the drivers side?
