Sunday 17th August will see the Retro Rides Gathering at the Heritage Motor Centre in Gaydon (postcode CV35 0BJ for those journey plans). We have space for just over 400 cars and expect it to fill up. It will of course represent the wide range of vehicles that we love on Retro Rides from Hot Rods and Customs through to Circuit Racers and Stock Dailys. We are all getting together to have a great day in celebration of what we do at a great venue with the same great vibe as other Retro Rides events.
Camping is available on the Saturday 16th if you fancy arriving early end enjoying a nice social weekend with friends, we will of course be having another BBQ. If there is demand for it we can extend the camping to include the Friday as well, so please tell us if you require camping on the Friday.
Spaces are on a first come first served basis and are indeed £10 per car (so bring your friends, or get them to drive one of your other cars). The first 120 places booked will also get free entry to the museum. Everyone else will get discount entry on the day. Tickets are initially going to be offered to Clubs and then if there is space left it will be made available on an individual basis. So if you are part of a club and want them attending, tell the people that need to know. Minimal club booking is 4 spaces. To register interest in spaces please send me a PM on here. We will be making the tickets formally available in due course
Camping costs £11 per pitch for the Saturday night only. If we have Friday night camping as well (which is looking likely) it'll be £16 for the Friday and Saturday night.
Whats happening on the day?
We will be offering prizes in various categories. There will be traders. There will be a Soapbox (drag)race. There is loads to do at the venue already, in addition to the hundreds of awesome cars.

More Information to follow, This is the big one a real social event and lots of fun, lets raise the profile of Club126Uk and our great cars. so book the weekend off and join us for a pint or two, put your name on this thread. If we get more than four we can have our own stand, Thanks.

I am most def up for this including camping on sat but i am worried that is the day i get back from a road trip to montenegro. I will check the dates. Will possibly still go anyway even if it is.

Just found out i cant come as i will still be on holiday. It really sucks but hopefully i can make another show instead. :cry:

Am working as fast as possible so hopefully will be there.
Wheel arches complete on the front, rear wheel arches should be done by end of this weekend, then it's primer - paint and re-assemble.
All engine work done, nice gearbox fitted so...cant think why not other than if I get lazy.. :cool:

Hi All, sorry i've not been involved in much so far this year. I am going to try to get the time off to attend, but i doubt if i can, august usually gets booked up in january at my workplace. If i don't manage it, i will probably still come down as it's not far from me. But i will have to leave on the saturday, to get back for work on sunday. I will post again soon to confirm. Wozza.

if you havent got a ticket you might be stuck by now, contact hotwire on the RR forum he might oblidge you...

Just got an email from the organiser, apparentley there is no 126 stand? He says though if you contact him now he can squeez a stand in! I will be on the stand on Sunday if this helps to put a stand together but someone needs to contact him. Heres a copy of the email:
We don’t have a Fiat 126 stand booked at the moment, I think some of the Fiat 126 guys are planning to arrive on the Sunday at the same time and park up together, rather than organising an official stand space. If there is some expectation from the Fiat 126 club of stand space, they need to contact me as soon as possible (I can still make sure they have space (but it’ll be by the skin of their teeth ;) )).
Tickets are one per car (£10), and can be got on the gate.

If you get there no later than 10-30am on Sunday there will be 5 places for our 126's/500's.
If you hav'nt got tickets you can pay on the gate and tell the guys your with CLUB126UK and they'l direct you to the parking spot.

I'm sorry guys, but i'm not gonna make it this weekend. I have discovered a brake problem on my car. It appears that one half of the diagonal split brake system isn't working, so i need to attempt to fix it asap. my car is tending to veer to the right under braking, i hope its not a master cylinder problem!. Have a good time all of you.

:D If your car VEERS in any direction then that means you have pressure from your master cylinder which is good news. Check for lost fluid , leaking brake cylinder or damaged pipes.

Sorry Guys, I cant make the weekend due to work commitments :sad: It would have been fantastic to meet you all and put some faces to names but hopefully in the future we will get together again.

this was happening to me a week ago, i thought it was the brake system, but it turned out to be that one tire was less inflated than the other, so it steered in that direction... :oops: :oops:

Last Friday I packed the 126 up with all the camping gear and set off on the 152 miles down to the retro rides weekend.
I was really impressed with the car, it kept up with traffic moving at 60/70mph and covered the journey down to Gaydon in 2hrs 40mins which is not bad for Friday traffic.
After talking with friends from RR the rest of the guys from Yorkshire turned up so we opened a few cans and setup the tents, then lit the barbe, after we had eaten and with can in hand went round the camp to chat with guys from RR UK, Holland and Germany. as the evening went on and a few more cans, got invited to watch films as one of the lads had brought a projector, it was a great social evening.
Saturday a few of us went for a drive visiting Warwick, Stratford-upon-Avon, and finished up in Banbury to get more provisions for the evening barbe, we got back to camp and spent a couple of hours going round the Heritage Motor Centre, very interesting. then back to eating, drinking and chatting.
Sunday was show day, after packing up camp we went down to the show area where i met up with ciaoflyer got parked together had a good look at all the retros, also met up with masseratiman who kindly donated a wiper motor for my 126 (good job it did'nt rain on the way down).
So that was my weekend its a pity that other 126's were not there you all missed a fantastic weekend, my 126 ran perfect and did'nt miss a beat in the 426miles it covered. When i got back home i worked out the mileage/petrol = 51.4 MPG which I was very impressed with as I did'nt hang about on the way back (speedo does'nt read high enough) so all in all it was a weekend to Remember.
