Hi

I have a Bis and am looking to buy some new alloys, where can I get some from?  What sizes can the Bis take with no mods?

Will 5.5J 13" 100pcd alloys fit my Bis.  I know that it should be 98 pcd but isn't there such a thing as wobbley bolts?  If so where can I get some?

If you look at past posts you will see others who have discussed this matter. i have herd of wobberly bolts too, but i would not recomend them, get a set with a PCD of 4x98 and no more than 13 x 5.5j you could push to 6 if you invest in some wheel spacers.

Look for cinq alloys on ebay or any fiat or lancia / alfa alloys with 4 studs would do, as long as they are 12-13''

theres loads of modern alloys avalible for the fiat cinq online. but watch out for the new bolts as they offern have the wrong size thred on them. you mite have to buy longer ones or recycle your old ones.

Hope i have helped a little, but as i said search the fourum... i think some1 is selling some cinq alloys right now! 60quid!!!

Thanks for your help you have answered alot of my questions.  So you can fit the older 12" wheels but won't these look a bit small?

i have 12's on my zastava and 13's on my bis, parked together you can hardly notice the difference in size unless you look really hard... when i think of some more ideas ill post pics of them...

I have got a set of Fiat Uno Turbo Alloys fitted with 155 low profiles which I ran on a lowered 126 up for grabs.

I think there 4x100 alloys as it says to fit mini etc...

standard tyres are 4.5j x 13''    so im not sure if they would fit anyhow..

Hi wobbly wheel nuts are fine to fit up to 100 pcd there seems to be alot more choice,all they do is compensate 2mm of diffrence which you dont feel.all that matters is the offset as the bolts dont seem to be that long you could always fit extending bolts and backing plates if the offset is to far apart.they will fit if its neg offset

Hi,mine i swear are 36 also,i think they will bolt on at 5j and will look very nice  :cool:   but if anyone wants to go 100 pcd these are the fellas you need........

That would be the best size both for the wheel and car. You could go slightly wider, but the 165x55s are far more common and cheaper

Thanks for the replys.  Also Variable wheel nuts, I was going to get some locking nuts aswell, will these need to be variable (wobbley)?

Yes the locking wheel bolts will need to be wobbly as well,these are slightly more expensive than the other ones.

The Offset is 36 on my wheels do you think standard length nuts will be ok, or will I have to fit spacers?  I don't want to shell out on some wobbley nuts and then find out they are too short!

Just test fitted the wheels.  On the rear they are very close to the body but they do not touch, we are talking mm's here is this normal for this wheel size?
On the front the centre bore seems too small, it almost goes over I think it is out about 1mm, will this go on when I tighten the bolts or will I need to file it a bit?

Hi ive got 2 5mm spacers that you can have if i find them for the rear,as for the front you could file the centre bore or get an engineering place to make it slightly wider it wont cost alot to get it done.

The wobbly bolts are a bit longer than the standrd bolts so the spacers will be fine,

Got my wheels centre bore machined this morning they were only out by 1mm!  Should fit straight on now!

Disaster £50 foraset of wheel nuts and they don't fit!  The size I got is 12 x 1.25 but they are smaller than the originals.  I am going to change them should they be 12 x 1.5?

they should be 1.50 which is a coarser thread than the early fiat 600 aircooled, i fell into the same trap :cry:

yes they are 1.5 x12mm which funnily enough i believe is a ford bolt fitment so theres plenty of lenght options available, I think i paid about 28 for my long set with floating washer seats

Alloy wheels now fitted!  However another potential problem.  Front wheels are great but the rears are where the prob is.  The centre of the hub is not long enough to locate into the centre bore on the wheel could there be any probs here for example wheel nuts breaking!

my dad ran a similar sized car for years with 1" spacers that had no lug location just studs and that was fine with 5 adults on lots of long journeys so should be fine due the low load, however you get proper german style TUV alloy spacers that have the hub machined in them for extra security if yoiur worried and woudl push your wheels out given better clearance etc

as meuton says, there isn't a problem. i have 5mm spacers on the rear so the wheels don't fit on the centre hub, just remember to tighten them up diagonally so the wheels centre on the shamfer of the wheel bolts. where are the pics :D  :D

Thanks for replys you have put my mind at rest.  Can't fit posh German spacers cos the wheels are already in line with wheel arch!  I have only fitted two at the mo when they are all fitted I shall post some pics!

Alloys fitted!  However the backs do slightly rub so going to get some 5mm spacers but do you think there is enough room as they are already close to the arches!

I run 185/55/13's (with serious slammage and no rubbage) youll have no probs with those -nice wheels and car byt the way :cool:

Wheels No bigger than 13" rims 5" wide (possibly 5.5" with the right back spacing)

Tyres wise Ive got 185/55/13's and had to roll the arches on mine and as you can see its tight so not much more than this I would think-(unless you are going to put flared arches on it-

I use the standard fiat centre caps on my cinq alloys, can't say i remember what size they are though
