Gday, I have recently aquired a FSN Nikki engine (Fiat126).
Im using this for a scaled drivable tank not in a car sorry.
So here is the question, I noticed that the Bis engine lies flat in the engine bay, can the aircooled engine be layed down as well, with modification. One would assume its essentially the same engine.
cheers Digger

im afraid that it is a totally different engine, the bis being water cooled for a start, and has its cylinders in a totally different place

Hi Digger , If you can get your hands on an older Fiat 500 Station Wagon engine it should give you what you want, ie an aircooled engine that lays down flat.
-
sorry but i have to ask but what sort of tank are you making? and what sort of scale are you building at?
-
Its a Scimitar CVRT tank, built at 60%scale.Yes I will be ablt to get in and drive it, and yes it will fire(Paintballs). I got the engine given to me, so I thought Id use it. If it could of been layed down flat it would of been a great advanage, or even layed at 45 degree. I was thinking that if I remanufactured a new oil pan and extended the oil pick up as well then It may of been possible, as well as making a new carbie si it sat straight up and down. Never mind. Ill just have to use it as it was designed, which is a shame because it would of goven me just that little more room that I needed.

so here is said engine.
before when i was given it.

ooooh shiny! Sorry cant help with the question though!

nice work on that engine.. im suprised it had gotten that bad though, niki's are only 20 years old.. you sure it's not a fiat 500 engine? (the niki engine has 650 printed on it to identify it) i dont know how much different a 500 engine looks, but id say not much.
also be sure to get the whole casing for the engine, as it is used to direct the air through.. though i spose you were getting a whole new set anyway, the old one is pretty ruined.
also to aid your searches.. its actually an "FSM Niki" i drive one as my primary car:P but an air cooled fiat 126 is the same thing.
