Title: 126 ENGINE GRILL COVERS.
Post by: 0207allyc on November 22, 2007, 10:34:09 PM
Hello again.

Wondering if any of you would have a set of the closeable covers that clip onto the engine bonnet grills? I just missed out on them on ebay a while back. Theyd be good and handy to have, as Im always paranoid about water getting through the grills and into the engine! Would any of you have a set or have an idea of where I could get my hands on some.

Many Thanks.

i dont think they would be a good idea, surely if Fiat deemed the grills nessesary then they must be needed for heat dissipation. If you think about it there isnt much that any water getting in can damage, the plugs are well under the engine bay,and the front is just cowling.i washed my 126 today, plenty of water thru the grills and no probs?

I was thinking practically. I wouldnt have them on whilst Id be driving, as I know their purpose is for Air intake. They would be more for if I was leaving it standing for a while, I could close the vent covers and seal the engine from the elements! As i mentioned, I just and no more missed out on a set on Ebay, so someone must have thought they would be a worthwhile addition to use at one time!?

you could just tape a bit of plastic sheet inside rather than spend money on some covers, well,i would anyway :D
