right then so we shall arrange a overnite meet so we can talk rubbish (me), get bladdered (optional) and get food poisoning (compulsory) .
if we earmark august bank holiday weekend and see what response we get as to whether we bother or not. so turn the telly off and come and play . start suggesting a worthy venue as we want to be able to have a bimble about in the cars while sober. (jorge park lane is a no-no! :) mick
-
and if you lot in the uk dont support this you need the back of your legs smacked...........a couple of tank fulls of juice and your chattin and havin fun........its £350 plus for me just to get to the bluddy UK
sorry for the rant but im fed up,cause its not looking good for me to get to retro...... bugger :smt086 [/u]
-
im interested any ideas on a venue?
if not too far ill go but only recently passed etc.
-
How about somehwere like the New Forrest? Quite picturesque and lots of nice horses and maybe cows to tip if we get a little bored and drunk!
And Dave, you should be looking into converting one of your Buzz' to an amphibious car and get it across the seas to the UK
-
you been drinking antifreeze again Dom?
New forest would be a perfect location! great stuff
Chris
-
if the new forest floats your boat then we will do that then , i will find a nice campsite for us to invade i will get my wife to drive the estate with me big tent and kit and use is to ferry food and beer . :) if we can find out how many of us we can get to come along i can then talk to campsites about pitches etc. so if you fancy it come on.
-
No trying to stick my nose in but:
So far there are people on this thread from, south London, Kent and Brighton. There must be somewhere nearer than New Forest.
Kent, Sussex?
-
yeah but they are willing to go there which is fair enough i suppose . you coming ? dont have to be a 126 you come in my w&k s in estate . it will be nice .
-
The new forest would be perfect straight down M3, onto M27 for a few miles and youre in the heart of our great british countryside, plenty of nice camp sites, lots of nice little country pubs round there we could convoy down to.
i think it would be perfect.
plus we have loads of members down there, who i know would come.

Weve got retro rides in Leicestershire, shouldnt be all that far from you?
-
id definately be cool for new forest meet. its not too far away and a nice area.

Sure I replied to this...
I'll be there, on bike as BIS and Air cooled still sick.

But will be sure to come talk sh*t with all
-
right just back from week in tent i will sort a campsite out but i need you to be 100% guaranteed to turn up as i will be required to pay in advance for the site so pm me with your pledge to come . i want to know do we want to do sat nite only or sat and sun nites? the choice is yours the bulk of the votes decide so get voting . ta mick
-
right here we go i have spoken to the national trust and they have a site at ROUNDHILL if we can get more than ten pitches then we are allowed to use their rallies field so that we will all be together .
the prices are sat night £18.30 per pitch and sunday £17.60 per pitch.
this is for two adults in a tent , extra adults are £6.20 sat , £5.90 sun.
extra children are £3.10 sat , £3.00 sun.
there is also an admin charge of £1.50 per pitch as its such a short stay.
now if you wish to come tell me as we realy need to sort this out before its too late.
roundhill is off the b 3055 brockenhurst to beaulieu road, a day at beaulieu motor museum will be an option so come on lets do it! :D mick
-

http://www.forest-holidays.com/RVEdeb3363dc5d04b0f8dc25527971530f5,,.aspx
this is the site its a good location and all we can get at such short notice in high season .

Chris
-
i think one would be best as well.
-

-

-
I have a 3 legged rusty barbeque that is small enough to fit in the fiat. We can cook and have a workshop on rust prevention!!
-
come on people mick needs a bit of feed back here! a simple yes or no would do too start.
michael you bring the bbq ill bring the rust remover heheheh

Chris
-
sat night makes the most sense, pitch up during the day on saturday, which leaves sunday go for a drive or museum
-
OK THIS IS THE FINAL NOTICE FOR CAMPING. ONE NIGHT AT ROUNDHILL , HAMPSHIRE . IF YOU DO NOT PUT YOUR NAME DOWN I WILL NOT BOOK A PITCH FOR YOU. I NEED YOUR CONFIRMATION AS I WILL BE PAYING FOR THIS IN ADVANCE AND DO NOT WANT TO PAY FOR THOSE WHO SAY YES AND DONT TURN UP. SO IF YOU ARE NOT COMING DONT BULLpoo BY SAYING "YES I MIGHT" . AND IF YOU ARE THEN GOOD ON YOU, WE SHALL HAVE A GOOD TIME . ON SUNDAY WE SHALL BE ATTEMPTING TO DRIVE TO BEAULIEU MOTOR MUSEUM SO IF YOU WANT TO JOIN US THEN BY ALL MEANS LET US KNOW AND WE WILL MEET UP BEFOREHAND. SORRY TO ALL THE NORTHERN FOLK THAT ITS A BIT TOO FAR FOR YOU TO COME , I WILL TRY AND SORT SOMETHING OUT SO WE CAN COME UP YOUR WAY AND HOPEFULLY HAVE A BIGGER DO. REGARDS MICK .
-
WE HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THE CAMPSITE , I WAS TOLD WE COULD DO SINGLE NIGHTS ON THE RALLY SITE , BUT DUE TO US NOT GETTING TEN PITCHES WE MUST GO ON TO THE NORMAL CAMPSITE , HOWEVER IF USING THE CAMPSITE WE MUST BOOK IN FOR A MINIMUM OF TWO NIGHTS!! AND EVEN BETTER STILL IF ON THE BANK HOLIDAY WEEKEND MUST BOOK IN FOR THREE NIGHTS!! SO IT LOOKS LIKE IT AINT GOING TO HAPPEN IN THE NEW FOREST!!! IF I CAN FIND AN ALTERNATIVE VENUE I WILL POST IT BUT IT WONT BE IN THE NEW FOREST AS ITS BOOKED SOLID !! SORRY CHAPS I AM RUBBISH...
-
BEFORE ANYONE STARTS I KNOW ITS JUST DOWN THE ROAD FROM ME BUT ITS A QUICK FIX!! DODDINGTON ,KENT , £5 PER ADULT £3 PER CHILD PER NIGHT. HAVE SPOKE TO THE OWNER AND HE WILL RING ME THIS AFTERNOON IF HE HAS ROOM. AT LEAST IF ITS HERE I WILL BE ABLE TO BRING MY MONSTER PARTY SIZED BARBECUE TO USE . :D
LET ME KNOW ASAP IF YOUR INTERESTED AS I MUST MOVE QUICK OR WE WILL LOSE OUT.
-
never mind mick that will do fine is that the campsite at leysdown? if so only a min away from a 126 rally/bbq on the beach hehehe
-
I dont mind where we end up so thats fine with me. It'll make a change for Mick not to have to do all the driving this time!!
-
well if its okay with you i will talk to the bloke tommorow , we could then drive down to the coast or do a tour .
-
Costal drive souds perfect, not been near the coast with the 500
(except that time i drove to Portishead and the drive shafts went)
-
rang campsite today he has put by 4 pitches , me , m o d , neil and chris , if anyone else wishes to come and need to pitch a tent tell me as he has more room so come on!!
-
Next weekend!!!
How many have confirmed ??
I will be there but sadly not in the 126 :-((
looking forward to it.
-
well theres me with my brood , michael o donnel, neil (nrg) (plus girlfriend?), your lot plus pedro if he can make it down, as for chris i have not got a clue as he has gone awol.
-
as you know we are having a barbecue / camping night this coming weekend , it was designed to bring the members that seem to always show up together for a relaxed eat , drink then a drive around kent .
however half of these members cannot attend due to commitments it also appears that those that will attend will come in alternative transport.
i propose a vote now as to whether we continue or cancel this meet until all members can attend and all cars are on the road . i am sure it will be more enjoyable at a later date as it will double the attendees . i also propose this due to the fact that one member in particular is willing to drive down from yorkshire and see it will be more enjoyable if every one is available to meet and greet this fellow member . mick
-
i think you've got a fair point there Mick. It makes the trip so much nicer if there is a large number of cars so we can talk shop properly.
I also have a slight issue in that i was meant to move into my new house last week which hasnt happened and if it were to be sorted by this weekend then I would have to move. Don't get me wrong, I know the fiats more important than my girlfriend, but our sofa isnt very comfy!
count me for a postpone vote as i would hate to find myself in a position where I had to bail on everyone.
Cheers
Michael
-
i think in these circumstances that would be a good idea, i doubt that my 126 would be back on the road (engine out, rear crankshaft oil seal)
-
in that case then SOUTHERN SOFTIES BARBECUE POSTPONED until further notice due to blah blah blah etc etc etc . dont worry though cos it will happen and it will be good fun and everyone will be in a 126 one day!! so lets look forward until 2020!!!!
-
Great shame, maybe soon :-(
-
Firstly I'd like to say thanks to Mick for trying to pull us all together for an outing and sorry that it hasn't gone to plan.
It will be good to re-arrange this soon rather than forget about it.
When I was a member of the Fiat 500 club in Scotland, none of us were able to travel to the well visited English meets so used to plan our own. They were usually low key events and rarely involved a motor museum or motor show, but gave us all a chance to sample some country roads and talk Fiat.
We each took it in turn to arrange a meet in an area close to us. This make organising events alot easier.
I'd like to suggest this as a way forward for the club as I think we all need to be a bit more pro-active in organising events.
Thanks
Michael

right i have my panda cylinder head now so once i get that on i will def be up for some meets.
