i agree,mines a lot faster now the repsol stickers are on...........mind you,the biggest performance gain was with the abarth badges...... :cool:

i thought about putting some motor sport decals on but i dont think i could have handled that much of a power gain. :lol:

its a well known fact that go faster stripes reduce the air friction on the paint work and thus provide upto 10bhp more Barry. :lol: :lol:

so working on that equation if i fit two sets will i get double the gain? and can i mix colours without making it too powerfull? also i have been looking at sunglasses to finish it all off what sort of style would you recommend without being too dangerous.?

I'd go with the two set Mick. but be careful where you stick them, make sure you balance the sides up. you don't want to be driving down the road lopsided, it would spoil the handling :D another thing to consider to complete the package is chrome exhaust trims round, oval, twins and now turbo trims. these are really good for 10 to 15 bhp :) as for the sun glasses go for mirrors, they must work as all sports men/women use them i.e. cycling, sailing, motor racing etc' got to be good for another 3 bhp. :lol: :lol:

i'd also remove any wing mirrors mick, as they cause drag.
Also if your interested ive got a power boost chip (£55) which can give you upto 20bhp, i bought it from an add in the back of maxpower. Looks strikingly like the little resistors we used in electronics at school :lol: :lol:

i am a little worried of using "aviators" as i already have a red bull tin wrapped around my coil and as you know red bull gives you wings , i dont want to be flying as i dont have a pilots licence.

my stickers didnt go too well today... only got a couple to apply, rest had got too old to stick proper like :oops: so only gained around 5hp instead of 10 :lol: then lost about 15hp due to sticking wheel cylinder!

sorry to hear about the stickers, can you not get an adhesive to stick them down properly with?

yes, we did all that but the problem was the protective sticky paper has basically been on them so long it almost had bonded to them! so although they stuck on the car well, the paper stuck to them more, never mind.

I don't want to put a damper on your stickering but...
Have you check the situation regarding your insurance, I was under the impression that your insurance was invalidated if you display racing numbers, the insurance company's classify cars with race number plates as 'road racing' which your insurance will not cover.
I used to race in a class which insisted that the car was driven to and from the circuit, it was normal practice to put a cross in black tank tape across the numbers to make sure that the car was legal on the road.

i dont have any insurance anyway if i get in an accident i can say its not a racing number but a short telephone number!! thanks for the tip. mick
actually to be a proper damp squib did you know that if you remove a production issue badge that is on your car (ie. fiat badge) it can render your insurance invalid if not declared ? as its classed as a modification also its making your car more stealable so the insurance people tell me, how i dont know but it does!

hi,an insurance company will even get out off it if you fit alloys with out telling them,we had a new style mini in with the same thing,he was told the insurance was void and the car a total loss :smt005 ,they can also do it on badges, stickers,kits,airfilters,exhausts anything basically they can class as a modification,sorry just thought i would add it

Sooooo......who on here has their car properly insured then? and if so where???.....................................i have been quoted £120ish full comp for all my mods......with a stated 40 bhp output......im doing it right this time guys........

The engine swap was cheaper to insure than the highly tuned aircooled... somthing to do with the more standard state of tune of the engine despite it being over three times more powerful than a stock 126 engine!
Still a shade over £200 fully comp

i pay 180 for each of my 126 s (x3) fully comp with named driver and declared alterations/modifications .
oh by the way toz chris is making a" took years to get my car on the road only to be laughed at" section... :D good work fella keep it up .

ive had qoutes for about £180 fully comp,with mods,
:lol: :lol: youve got me there mic,never mind when its done if i dont like it i could always scrap it,he who gives life can take it away :smt021 :lol: ,after all theres loads of aircooled convertibles on the road i must see at least 20 a week,i just couldnt understand why 5th gear were so intrested in one they found at a motor show last year, :roll:

convertables are fine and good however they must have a really well made professional roof or they just look so bad , when shall you be up and running are you gonna be at retro rides? (2029 :lol: )
